Israel’s AG Threatens to Draft all Charedim in Weeks if No Agreement Reached

JERUSALEM (VINnews) — In a shocking threat, Israel’s Attorney General has threatened to draft all military-age Charedim–including full-time yeshiva students.

According to Kan 11 News, AG Gali Baharav-Miara announced the devastating threat, which would be catastrophic for the Charedi community, and greatly diminish the amount of Torah being learned, at a time when z’chusim are badly needed for Klal Yisrael, in addition to dealing a massive blow to PM Netanyahu’s fragile coalition, at a meeting held between the Justice and Defense Ministries.

She announced that if by the end of next month, the government does not extend the draft exemption for yeshiva students, and declare its intent to enact a new draft law, all conscription obligations would immediately apply to all yeshiva students, even those who are ‘Torasam Umanusam’ (full-time yeshiva students). It was also announced that yeshiva funding would be cut off.

To avoid such a result (assuming she is serious in her threat), Likud and its coalition would need to renew the exemption for Charedim in the next few weeks, and need to work on a new draft law that would resolve military service issues for Caredim, which has not been successfully accomplished in decades.

The government is reportedly considering appealing the decision to the High Court, on the grounds that such a move is destructive during an all-out war in Gaza. However the AG said that should such an appeal be filed, she would not be able to represent the government, since she is the recipient of the lawsuit.

This is a blatant attempt to bring the coalition government down.

She doesn’t care that there is a war on and that she is aiding and a betting the enemy

    Shame on her

    My son is in Gaza.

Many of the Charedi boys of serving age are in the Bais Medrash.

    Many are not.

The fathers of those that are not should get to be as proud of their sons as I am of mine.

In my sons backpack is his Artscroll Bava Kama.

Kind of tells a story, doesn’t it?

It’s not hatred of chareidim. It’s reality. You cannot have most Jews going to war and dying and being handicapped and leaving widows and orphans, while the chareidim want to enjoy all the benefits of living in Eretz Yisrael without sharing the responsibilities and dangers.

This is not the Torah way to behave. Moshe Rabbeinu spoke to the tribes of Gad and Reuven who did not want to go into Eretz Yisrael and fight. (Parshas Matot)

Moshe Rabbeinu accused them of trying to run away from their responsibility of participating in the war together with their brothers. He compared them to the spies Meraglim who turned the hearts of the nation from the mission of reaching the land. He tells them that they are sinful people who are arousing Hashem’s anger against Israel and who are destroying the Jewish nation.
Do you think it is right that Jews are dying while others think that they are too holy to fight and let others die for them?

    Never works out.

I’ve watched this for over 40 years. Each time they started with the charedim, they got busy with intifadas. Like clockwork.

This is hatred for the chareydim , whatever that word means. It’s not based on reality.

Addition to comment I just made: Moshe Rabbeinu spoke harshly to the tribes of Gad, Reuven and half the tribe of Menashe who wanted to let the other tribes go into Eretz Yisrael to fight while they stayed safely on the other side of the Jordan worrying about their flocks of sheep.
Moshe Rabbeinu asked them in anger: “Shall your brothers go out to battle while you settle here? ” Is this the Torah way? To let your brothers die for you while you worry about being safe?

She’s not the first Wicked one and she won’t be the last. Besides that you’re not getting thousands of these guys to do anything especially during the war, but to take away the only protection that the Jews actually have is risking the lives of the actual soldiers as well. The IDF hasn’t reported a shortage of staff and besides that none of these guys learning are actually trained at all and can’t help the current situation anyway

So lets endanger the lives of others by blocking traffic. Chareidim don’t seem to care if they instill fear and panic with their stupid actions!!!!

So send all those not learning from America and other Chutzniks to fight. If its a Mitzvah that can be done by all jews, than lets have the best of both worlds ALL Jews fighting… Some in the Beis Medrish and some in Gaza.

Its so funny how people are stuck in fairness and the values without being practiacl. facts are Charedim will NEVER join the army. You can’t force millions of people to oblige. Now try to think about what your second to best option is because you ain’t getting what you want. Is ay settle for an Oct 7 model where charedim do alot more to help the army without being in the army/ This includes feild hospitals in war zones where they are at risk too but not “in” the army.

The vast majority of the Haredi world does not even know the is a war going on. There are exceptions but most do not have immediate family in the army, most don’t know someone who has lost a son or a daughter and have no connection to anyone who has. It is a total detachment. Here is an idea before a solution is imposed. There is agricultural produce dying on the vines and in the fields because there are not enough people to harvest them. There are 100,000 full time haredi students. See where I am going
At the very least it would prove to everyone else that they feel they are part of this

This is the payback for participating in the Knesset of kofrims, accepting money from the erev rav and supporting fake religious parties to the Knesset worst erev reshayims after chabad apikorsims. Frum Jews accept their money now they request take blood in exchange. Who is shomer Torah and mitzvot doesn’t an army of secular lost Jews for protection. Who wants to be secular and forgo Hashem’s commandment will definitely needs to bear an IDF for protection against all the angels of destruction created (even if at the end hashem protects even the worst of his children ) .

The whole time, they were prob waiting to make peace with the arabs in order to focus on the Chareidim. Now that they realize that it’s not possible to make peace with the arab animals, they are not wasting any more time and they are jumping on the Chareidim..

Who is the real warrior? In 4th grade my Rebbe taught us Ch’V Dovid Hamelechs soldiers carried swords & bows and arrows. They were really carrying Bubba Kamas & Sanhedrins.
Our warriors of today have their own “Weaponry” to defeat our enemies. So the next time you drive by a Yeshiva & see a group of Talmidim with a coffee in one hand & a cigarette in the other honk, wave & say “Thank you for your service.”

I hope this endeavor is successful . Haredim have been enjoying their lives while the other Jews get blown up in Gaza .
