MARYLAND (VINnews) — A group of legislators have proposed a bill that would remove the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) from the Maryland Commission on Hate Crimes Response and Prevention, and replace it with two members from the Muslim community.

Sponsors of Maryland House Bill 763 point to systemic antisemitism exhibited repeatedly by CAIR’s leadership. Democratic Baltimore City Delegate Dalya Attar, talked about CAIR spokeswoman Zainab Chaudry.
“There are bigoted comments being made toward others in the group, toward others who are at risk of hate crimes, and that is not a group that should be on an organization, on a commission that’s supposed to be reducing hate crimes,” Attar told 11 News.
Delegates cited social media posts by Chaudry comparing Israel to Nazi Germany. In another post, delegates said she criticized the western media for portraying, in her words, “Palestinian freedom fighters as terrorists.” Delegates said Chaudry condemned the Israeli government for killing Palestinian civilians, especially children.
Attar also said by email that “CAIR has been acting in a bigoted manner towards other groups at risk of hate crimes — other groups they are tasked to work with on the commission to minimize hate.”
A group of Republican state delegates who have led a separate effort to remove Chaudry from the commission also remain “steadfast” in that mission.
“We support efforts to remove CAIR from the commission as well. Ms. Chaudry’s antisemitic comments are still on social media calling Hamas ‘freedom fighters’ and comparing Israel to Nazi Germany,” the group added.
Dalya Attar is a Sephardic (Iranian/Moroccan) Jew and a Democrat. Kudos to her for calling out bigotry!
How dare you do it to the peaceful religion
Par for the course for Democrats to put Jew haters on antisemitism commissions.
What happened to the other three comments VIN?? Hmmm.
