JERUSALEM (VINnews) — BDE: In a fatal terrorist attack which occurred Thursday morning at the A-Zaim checkpoint between Maale Adumim and Jerusalem, a youth in his 20’s was murdered and 8 others injured, three of them seriously, including a pregnant 23-year-old woman, [currently there is no danger to her fetus] a 30-year-old woman and a young man who engaged the terrorists.

Three terrorists, residents of the Bethlehem region, got out of two different cars and began firing randomly at other cars waiting at the checkpoint, which regulates the traffic entering the capital. The terrorists were armed with M-16 guns as well as Karlo submachine guns and gas grenades.
Fortunately, a civilian neutralized two of the terrorists on-scene and the third was eliminated after he escaped and security forces chased after him. The civilian is 23-year-old Hanania Ben-Shimon, who served for four months in the reserves in the Gaza Strip and was discharged last week. During the exchanges of fire, he was wounded in the leg and stomach and has been hospitalized. [Please daven for Chananya Yosef ben Tova].
The Shin Bet security agency identified the terrorists as brothers Kadam Zawahra, 31, and Muhammad Zawahra, 26, both residents of the Tamer neighborhood in the West Bank city of Bethlehem, and Ahmad Alwahsh, 31, from the town of Za’atara near Bethlehem. The younger Zawahra brother previously served a prison sentence in Israel for entering the country illegally.
