SHAMEFUL: NYT Reporter Awarded Photojournalism Prize Was Present At Hamas Massacres

1

JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Last November, Israeli media outlets made a joint request that international media organizations such as CNN and the New York Times should refrain from using pictures from AP and Reuters freelance journalists in Gaza because they had actively accompanied and participated in the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7th. The request was based on an HonestReporting investigation showing the active participation of some journalists at some of the scenes of atrocities.

The Israeli outlets wrote that “an investigation revealed that these journalists documented among other things the kidnapping of Israeli citizens and soldiers, the kidnapping of bodies, a lynch against an IDF soldier’s body (which received the Picture of The Day award from Reuters) and Hamas terrorists commandering an Israeli tank. In visual documentations from the incidents the photographers appear at these scenes of horror as if they are just ‘doing their media work.’

“The presence of these journalists during the early hours of the attack on Israel, an incident which started suddenly and was kept top secret, raises harsh questions about whether there was prior coordination between these journalists and the Hamas terror organization.”

One of the journalists targeted in the investigation was Yosef Masoud, who was present with the terrorists at the time of the attacks

The New York Times responded by stating that “The Times has extensively covered the Oct. 7 attacks and the war with fairness, impartiality, and an abiding understanding of the complexities of the conflict.

“The advocacy group Honest Reporting has made vague allegations about several freelance photojournalists working in Gaza, including Yousef Masoud. Though Yousef was not working for The Times on the day of the attack, he has since done important work for us. There is no evidence for Honest Reporting’s insinuations. Our review of his work shows that he was doing what photojournalists always do during major news events, documenting the tragedy as it unfolded.”

There is a fine line between “documenting a tragedy as it unfolded” and being an active participant in the tragedy, as in these cases the journalists had prior knowledge that they would be covering a bloodbath against civilians, kidnappings, beheadings and other atrocities.

Despite this, the New York Times happily accepted a prize for Masoud’s photojournalism from the George Polk awards. The award praised Masoud and another journalist for “chronicling Israel’s bombardment and invasion of their homeland, Gaza…. photographed the conflict from its opening hours on Oct. 7 until they escaped the territory exactly two months later. Under harrowing circumstances, they captured gripping and unforgettable images.”. For some reason, the award, which honors “outstanding journalism”, failed to mention that Masoud was also present and documenting as Hamas terrorists massacred, kidnapped and beheaded innocent civilians.

The NYT has always done this, siding with evil, they covered up for Stalin’s starving millions in the Ukraine and still have the pulitzer they won for it, they covered for the nazis and have been covering for the terrorists for decades. They are vermin scum.
