An initial email about the incidene from the yeshiva read in part:

“An inflatable slide, that had been brought in as part of our Pre-Purim Katan activities, slid over and tilted while boys were on it resulting in some of our talmidim getting hurt.”

“Hatzalah was called and, although b’chasdei Hashem, no talmidim were seriously injured, a few boys were taken to the hospital for further evaluation.”

A follow up email said: “Please be aware that all parents whose sons were even mildly hurt this afternoon have already been contacted. Four boys were taken to the hospital for minor injuries and are doing well B”H.”

It is important to be aware that while these incidents appear to be rare, it is not clear what kind of safety requirements and oversight are mandated with inflatable rides, and parents always should be cautious.

This happened in my son’s school a few years ago. My son and another boy broke their arms, a rebbe broke his leg, and a 2nd grader needed stitches on his face. These things are not as safe as they appaer to be.

We don’t know why these things happen, nor should we try to guess. We need to be the best type of individual we can be and have faith in HaShem.

Children need to run around but they don’t need goyishe zachin. This is great compared to what is out there, but less is more. Spoiled kids become spoiled adults. They need fancy vacations and fancy homes instead of focusing on what is important.

This is the clearest message from Hashem I’ve seen. Boys should be learning Torah & not playing on a slide. If they were learning Torah this wouldn’t have happened.
We’re getting soft with our kinderlach in a negative way. Boys need to be learning Torah, no excuses.
We need our Rabbanim & R’Y to forcefully come out about events like this as well as leagues for basketball, football & baseball.
