The 15-year-old terrorist, who arrived at the scene and began stabbing people, was shot and neutralized.

Eyewitnesses said that the terrorist drew a knife, injured two people, and security forces at the scene neutralized him within seconds. Initial reports say that the terrorist arrived at the scene on an electric bicycle.

A soldier from the Erez battalion and a civilian security guard neutralized the terrorist. A female IDF soldier who was at the scene suffered light injuries and was taken for medical treatment. Her family has been informed.

Magen David Adom described the attack, stating that “Two people were injured in a stabbing attack near the Tunnels Checkpoint at the exit from Jerusalem. MDA paramedics provided medical treatment and evacuated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center a man of about 25 and a young woman of 19, with mild to moderate stab wounds to their bodies.”

United Hatzalah volunteer EMT Shilo Ettinger reported that: “I was on a bus (with basic dressing equipment), and a few seconds after we passed the checkpoint we heard gunshots. I told the bus driver that I was a United Hatzalah EMT and he allowed me to get off to help the wounded.”

“I arrived at the scene in about half a minute, and provided initial treatment to a young man and woman suffering from stab wounds. At this stage, their condition is defined as mild and mild to moderate.”

Shortly after the attack took place, large numbers of police officers arrived at the scene, including Israel Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai. The road near the checkpoint is temporarily closed, due to the terror attack.
