Suspect in Custody After Attempted Kidnapping of Jewish Girl in Lakewood

LAKEWOOD (VINnews) — A suspect is in custody after the attempting kidnapping of a Jewish girl in Lakewood on Thursday. At approximately 7:30 PM, Lakewood Shomrim and Lakewood police were called to the area of Forest Park Circle, and according to reports, arrived swiftly at the scene

According to media reports, a black or Hispanic man approached a teenage Jewish girl and tried to force her into a white SUV. Thankfully the girl was able to escape, and the suspect fled.

According to Lakewood police, a similar incident was reported in a nearby town as well.

A huge manhunt and police car chase ensued after the same SUV was spotted, and the suspect eventually crashed and was arrested in Toms River early Friday morning.

There is absolutely no reason to believe it was an illegal. The xenophobia shown by some people is scary. Why does foreigner = dangerous criminal? And why the vitriol? Yes, we should have better borders, if the media reports are to be trusted. But is that a reason to hate all immigrants?
