CROWN HEIGHTS (VINnews) — The Beis Din of Crown Heights has called on Thursday to be a special day of davening as New York judges hear oral arguments in an appeal over whether the state has the power to force yeshivas to follow a state-controlled secular studies curriculum.

The Bais Din issued the following letter on Wednesday (translated):
The Rabbonim of our Shchuna, Horav Avrohom Asdoba and Horav Yossef Yeshaya Braun, reach out to the entire community:
We join the plea of the Mechanchim and Mosdos leaders, alongside our children’s Neshamos crying out: Make Tomorrow a ‘Yom Tefilla’ dedicated to Tehillim, adding in Torah Tefilla and Tzedoka to annul the Gezeira against our pure Chinuch Al Taharas Hakodesh.
While this battle is ongoing, Kitrug, Tomorrow, Thursday is specifically urgent as at 1:30 our claims will be brought before a judge and we need much Rachamei Shomayim!
The Rabbonim added that with this being a Yom Segula, the Zechus of all who join the new cycle – the Rebbe’s Takona of learning Rambam – will add the power of Torah tenfold! Our future is in all your hands! We will forever be indebted to you for your Torah, Tefilla, and Tzedoka tipping the scale.
I’m puzzled….You mean to tell me that the very same Democratic Politicians & other city & state officials / NY-Lawmakers, who our “Askonim”& other “Community-Leaders” proudly-endorse and tell us to continuously vote for year AFTER year, are suddenly interfering in our Yeshiva’s & Bais-Yakkov curriculum? You mean to tell me that the rabid-antisemitic Far-left wing Progressives, the current & future-face of the Democrat party, are the antithesis of Torah values and everything we hold dear ?? Here’s a novel idea; Stop accepting & pandering for corrupt & dirty money in exchange for votes!! All the funding & programs are NOT worth it! What else did they expect to happen ?!?!? BTW, don’t be surprised if NYC & NYS “Lawmakers” demand that Yeshiva’s & BY’s have to accept & host “Migrants” who are not vetted. That’s coming next!
Yet they will continue to tell you to vote for the Democrats.
This is what happens when yeshivos take money from the government. This empowers them to interfere and change the yeshivos curriculum.
I really wonder what would be the final nail in the coffin (pardon the pun) for the frum community with kids and Yeshiva in NYC and even NYS to just say enough is enough. We’re out of here, to a normal, conservative run state. There are quite a few of them.
