Two Soldiers Fall In Gaza Battles, Bringing IDF Losses Since Oct. 7th To 600

JERUSALEM (VINnews) — The IDF announced Sunday the names of two soldiers who fell in the battles in central and southern Gaza, bringing the total number of members of security forces who have fallen in the current war (including Oct. 7th) to 600. 256 of these soldiers have fallen during the current maneuvers in Gaza.

Staff Sergeant Sivan Weil, a 20-year-old from Ra’anana and a member of the Egoz commando unit, died of wounds sustained in the Friday RPG explosion in which one other soldier, Alon Kordianov, was killed and 15 others wounded. Four of the soldiers are still hospitalized in serious condition, and the rest are in light or moderate condition.

Weil, the son of French immigrants to Israel, will be buried on Monday at 4:30 PM at the Ra’anan military cemetery.

In a separate incident, Sergeant Nadav Cohen, a member of the 77th tank battalion, was killed in southern Gaza when an anti-tank missile slammed into his tank. Cohen, a 20-year-old resident of Haifa, was remembered by his teacher as “the magical member of the class, with a ready smile and always the first to volunteer.”
