(VINnews) — Elon Musk has posted that he will reinstate the account of banned antisemite, Neo-Nazi and Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes on X, even through Musk believes that it will cause X to ‘lose a lot of advertisers’.

Musk was accused by an X user of ‘working for Jews’, along with an image of Nick Fuentes. He replied: “While I don’t condone all the actions of any one group, I must admit to being openly philosemitic, and generally try to see the good in all people”

At that point a different user requested that Fuentes’ account be restored, and Musk, who has an amazing track record of responding to the requests of X users, replied:

“Very well, he will be reinstated, provided he does not violate the law, and let him be crushed by the comments and Community Notes. It is better to have anti whatever out in the open to be rebutted than grow simmering in the darkness.”

he defended the move, saying: “I cannot claim to be a defender of free speech, but then permanently ban someone who hasn’t violated the law, no matter how much I disagree with what they say. This will probably cause us to lose a lot of advertisers and makes me sad, but a principle is a principle.”

In January 2023, Twitter suspended Fuentes, less than 24 hours after his account was reinstated, after being banned in July 2021.

In one of his first tweets back, Fuentes posted a video promoting the 2024 presidential campaign of antisemite Kanye West, with an apparent reference to a previous antisemitic tweet in which West threatened to go “death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE.”

Either the First Amendment means something or it doesn’t. The benefits of free speech far outweigh the ugliness.
What the Briben administration did in the last 3 years (see released infamous Twitter-files) were the 1st steps in a precipitous decline leading to an authoritarian rule. Not that many degrees of separation to the Roman ban on Torah-speech that lead to Rabbi Akiva’s public execution.
