Major Bouzaglo, part of the battalion’s combat team, was operating on Monday morning in the southern section of the city under the Golani Brigade, as part of the 36th Division’s maneuver into Gaza City.

Terrorists who ambushed the forces fired an RPG at the tank, and the officer was critically wounded. He was taken to Soroka Medical Center in Be’er Sheva, where his death was confirmed.

Bouzaglo, a hero of Oct. 7th who left his home and raced to courageously confront the terrorists entering Israel, has been leading his soldiers in Gaza since the start of the war. He is survived by his wife who is expecting their first child.

Since the beginning of the war, 911 soldiers have fallen; 465 of them were killed since the ground operation in the Gaza Strip began.

Yaki Ben Haim, Mayor of Migdal HaEmek, said:

“We have witnessed the tragic death of a man who gave his all for the country.
Major Shahar Natanel Bouzaglo fell in the battle for the security of the State of Israel and its citizens, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, leadership, and courage.
As mayor, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, his friends, and all of us residents of the city. May his memory be blessed.”

Four days ago, four soldiers were also killed: Major Omri-Chai Ben Moshe (26) from Tzafria, Lieutenant Ron Arieli (20) from Hadera, Lieutenant Eitan Avner Ben Yitzhak (22) from Har Bracha and Lieutenant Eran Shalem (23) from Ramat Yochanan

They were killed when the Humvee they were traveling in hit a roadside bomb in the Janina neighborhood in the southern part of Gaza City.
