JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Tensions along Israel’s northern border continue to escalate, and at the same time, pressure on the Hezbollah terror organization inside Lebanon is mounting. Dr. Eddy Cohen, a Middle East expert and scholar of the Arab world, said in an interview with Channel 14’s Oded Menashe on Monday that Lebanon is on the verge of exploding both internally and externally.

“There is massive pressure on Hezbollah,” Cohen explained, emphasizing: “When there’s pressure, everything will eventually blow up. We’re eliminating their operatives almost every day, and rightly so. The Shiite community is already fed up with the situation. Just a few days ago, four or five terrorists were killed in a single strike.”
He added that Washington is also signaling to Beirut that time is running out.
“The American coordinator, Tom Barrack, told the Lebanese that they’ve reached the breaking point: either you dismantle Hezbollah yourselves, or Israel will begin to act.”
According to Cohen, the Lebanese government now faces a dire dilemma: “What will they do? Start a civil war against Hezbollah, or go to war with Israel? Everything is simmering beneath the surface and could explode at any moment.”
Cohen concluded that Hezbollah will never willingly disarm: “Hezbollah manipulates the Lebanese government the same way Hamas manipulates the Palestinian Authority. A terrorist organization will never give up its weapons voluntarily.”
