The IDF says that it can The Israeli military has confirmed that a senior Palestinian Islamic Jihad commander involved in the Hamas-led October 7 massacre was killed in an airstrike in Gaza last month.

According to the IDF, Alaa Khudar — identified as the head of Islamic Jihad’s elite forces in Gaza City — was killed in a series of Israeli strikes on November 22. The strikes were carried out in response to a Palestinian gunman’s attack on Israeli troops operating in the southern Gaza Strip.

Military officials say newly confirmed intelligence shows that Khudar played a direct role in the October 7, 2023 assault, during which he infiltrated Kibbutz Nahal Oz. The IDF says he also helped lead additional attacks on Israeli civilians and soldiers throughout the ongoing war.

The confirmation comes as Israel continues targeted operations against commanders and operatives involved in the October 7 atrocities, aiming to degrade both Hamas and Islamic Jihad’s leadership networks in Gaza.
