JERUSALEM (VINnews) — The Chashmonaim brigade, established by the incoming head of the Shin Bet, Major-General David Zini, has made significant progress during its first year of operations. The first group of inductees who graduated were immediately sent to a training course so that they could be the first generation of charedi squad commanders in the IDF. Recently they completed their course and on Wednesday the third group of inductees to the brigade completed their initial phase of training and were sworn in at the Western Wall.

Prior to the swearing-in ceremony, the cadets had to march approximately 50 km in inclement weather conditions before they reached the Western Wall around dawn on Wednesday.

During the ceremony, the cadets received their berets from outgoing brigade commander Avinoam Emunah and his deputy Amram Hayun and sang the brigade’s anthem- “Mimkomcha”.

“The first group of inductees who graduated were immediately sent to a training course so that they could be the first generation of charedi squad commanders in the IDF.” Anyone going through that army is by definition no longer Chareidi.

It is a disgrace and actual chilul Hashem to debase the holy Kosel for any military ceremony.
