New York – Health officials have posted a list of public drinking water systems that may have been contaminated in Superstorm Sandy. They’re advising against drinking or otherwise using the water from three systems and telling users of 23 others to boil water before drinking it.

The list posted Friday afternoon advises against using the water from the Mill Neck and Long Beach systems in Nassau County on Long Island, which have been in effect since Monday and Tuesday, respectively. An advisory took effect Friday for the Breezy Point system in Queens.
Boil water advisories are in effect for 13 water systems in Suffolk County, nine in Rockland County and one in Ulster County.
