The event was held with the goal of raising awareness about the dangers of using the Internet, especially for children and young adults who can be exposed to pornography and other sites with illicit content.
Organizers say this is a follow-up to a rally in Queens last May where 60,000 members of the ultra-orthodox community flooded Citi Field and Arthur Ashe stadium to mobilize against the Internet.

My tax dollars at work.
So I would assume given the evils of the internet, not a single person on the head table has ever used it, and yet they are fully qualified to declare it evil and off limits? Hang on while I go ask my dentist for advice on an ingrown toenail
This must have cost a pretty penny to stage. I think there may be better use of the money spent on this narishkeit.
So nice to see all these pictures of the Amish & Cossacks finally getting together for a unified cause.
Love the fact that there’s an advertisment for a downloadable app for the Talmud just above the photos.
Good Shabbos to all.
So afraid of such an educational tool. They learn hardly anything in school and this opens up a whole new world, if they weren’t so paranoid about sex. I’ve used the internet for 15 years and never clicked on an X rated website.
I have been reading Twitter feeds that were sent during both rallies. Naming each speaker, his remarks, etc. I guess there was “closeted” tweeting going on last night during the event.
Luke.
Nebach…like sheep being led to slaughter. That’s the name of the game….keep the masses poor and ignorant so that you can keep the power and money for yourselves.
No women present? I guess they are on a higher madraiga.
If women were not allowed to attend, it would be interesting to know why that would be legal, given that the stadium is publicly owned.
Seeing a huge banner with the symbol of a German car favored by hitler y’s,in the same arena with chasidim es postnisht!
To call this a protest, is gross negligence!
Beautiful pictures from the flat earth society annual meeting. In addition to protesting the Internet they also protested other modern technologies such as fire, the wheel, and indoor plumbing.
RamapoJew;
“..the flat earth society”
Absolutely brilliant ! Can I steal this?
Luke.
protesting the internet? what kind of sch888ks are these? the rebbe lets child molesteers go free and victims are ostracised from the community when they report sex crimes.
At this point, all those mindless yidden who show up at these “asifas” to hear a bunch of geriatric askanim and rabbonim scream gevalt about the internet are not going to change their minds. Half of them will go home and check their email and ignore what they just heard…the other half will stay in the dark and fret about what they might c’v see if they surf the net.

Pls tell me how many people went off the derech because of the wheel ,fire,or indoor plumbing
Or how many marriages or homes did they wreck
Or how many young nesomes
Went off the derech because of the wheel fire or indoor plumbing
It’s nice to see boulder stadium finally full
What time does the game start? Do you think we have a chance of catching a foul ball?
last I checked, nobody was forced to attend. If you don’t agree with the subject matter, do your own thing. The people who attended have reason to believe their children’s souls are at stake and that’s their right to believe that.
To those of you who believe our children “learn nothing” in yeshiva/school; did you ever attend those schools and check the curriculum? Not every orthodox person is “poor and uneducated”. Perhaps seeing so many erlicha yiden who wish to live that way makes gives you a guilty complex! Something to think about.
Gut shabbos
You think anyone there suggested making Aliya and using the Kosher Moreshet filter system available on ALL internet service providers in Israel as mandated by Israeli LAW ???
Why didn’t I go to the Asifa? Oh yeah, because G-d did not send me. I do not do lies either so I guess I do not do an Asifa. I like to get my news online.
Clash of cultures right here on VIN; For chasidim the internet presents a grave and very real danger. In the chasidim world for the most part chinnuch habinim ( and I mean real chinuch habonim) is very weak. It’s the community that brings up the children ie everyone’s the same, their taught how to think, no individual thought, don’t ask too many questions etc. It’s an empty chinnuch if any at all. BTW this includes the phenomenon over the last 20 years of the new litvishe chasidus of hyper farfrumta chumrah laden non chasidim. However those who take the time and patience of carefully and painstakingly actually being mechanaich their children, those who spend their lives not only learning torah and doing mitzvos but using their minds to think about their children, learning each child’s derech, realizing that each child and his for that matter is an individual, have already won half of the battle against outside potentially harmful influences to yiddishkeit. The other half is tefilla…mit tverin un tehillim…However when ones children are being brought mindless, no real understanding of halacha, yiddishkeit, and the answers to the question “why” beyond ” that’s what we do” that’s what my tatty does”, that’s what the Reba does”, then yes their is a grave danger from the Internet and to those yiddins children. so let the chasidim do what they think will help themselves, just blindly dig their heads further into the sand and hope for the best it works. For the rest of us we will understand that children can be prevented from going off the D with proper chinuch and loads of tefillah. Good luck to is all.
Look at the billboard……an advertisement for Mercedes Benz, the German Car. Is this ironic, coincidental, someone’s idea of a sick joke, or blatant anti-semitism?
im no prude by any means ( i watch tv movies surf etc) but you have GOT to keep kids away from the internet as long as you can … no technology until youre 20! (ideally..ha!)
this way a person can develop REAL WORLD connections and experiences. THEN they are more equipped to maturely use the web etc in a dignified manner..
just my opinion of course
Of course it’s evil. When you’re entire lifestyle is based on ignorance and is destroyed by contact with facts and any other perspective the Internet is about as evil as it gets. Wait until the Charedim find out about the horrors of freedom, tolerance and curiosity
I have the perfect answer…Let’s get rid of everything modern and install in Pennsylvania! At least we’ll have neighbors there who will be, like us, cut of from the world and all sort of modern technologies!
Let’s become the Jewish version of the Amish!!!!!!!!
But no, that would mean that the Rabbi would have to get rid of his nice limo, house, services, etc…
Get a grip of your lives and stop blaming technology on everything!
It is the so called Rabbis that want to keep their manipulative grips on the orthodox Jewish population!
Let’s stop the internet, but keep on abusing children, beat women, used drugs, etc… as those are all problems we apparently don’t have!
Wake up people, Erev Rav seems to have taken control and is now seeking excuses to render Jews more ignorant, delusional and keep them in a Jewish Ghetto, rendering service not to Hashem, but their new gods, the so called Rabbis who want only our good!
Sort out the crimes committed in our midst and safe the poor children, before wasting money on events like this!
