New York, NY – Just hours after two NYPD officers were gunned down in Bedford-Stuyvestant, members of the NYPD staged a voiceless but powerful protest against Mayor Bill de Blasio, turning their backs to the mayor as he arrived at a press conference tonight at Woodhull Medical Center in Brooklyn.

Tensions have been high between City Hall and the NYPD with Patrick Lynch, president of the police officers union, and the mayor, publicly battling over the way police officers have been treated since the grand jury decision in the Eric Gardner case, as previously reported on VIN News.
Lynch suggested just days ago that NYPD members sign a petition requesting the de Blasio not attend their funerals, should they die on the job.
In a Thursday article that ran in the Daily News, Lynch blasted de Blasio for his recent actions, resulting in weeks of protests in the city over the grand jury’s decision not to charge Officer Daniel Pantaleo in Gardner’s death.
“He is not running the city of New York,” said Lynch. “He thinks he is running a f-ing revolution.”
de Blasio appeared visibly shaken tonight, wiping his eyes as he said “Our city is in mourning. Our hearts are heavy. It is an attack on all of us.”

Thank you Mr Mayor for your INCITEMENT against the Police who PROTECT us and you from CRIME
RESIGN! WITH YOUR EX BLACK PANTHER WIFE
Good for them! This despicable communist dares shed corocodile tears over these heroes?! A pox on him and all those protesters!
Shame on u mayor. As a mayor your suppose to support your police not incite ppl against them. U have blood on your hands… Shame on u
Stop blaming the Mayor for these kinds of deadly attacks against the cops. Such attacks took place in the past, even when former Mayors supported the police. There were four similar assassinations of NYC cops (i.e. Piagentini, and Waverly Jones), and two other cops in 1970-1971. The PBA and Patrick Lynch must realize that according to the Charter of NYC, there is civilian control of the police force. The police force is a paramilitary organization, which must remain under civilian control. The Commissioner of the NYPD is a civilian, and is not a member of the sworn force.
It is us whom the police are protecting. Ilmalai moraah ish es raiaihu chaim blooi. The animals out there want a jungle. They want zero accountability. They only want protection when it’s crime committed against them.
Just when you think the police could not be more insular and politically tone-deaf, they start dancing on coffins to score political points. Shame on the PBA and SBA.
#5 , stop, stop, stop. We *never* had a mayor so openly disdainful of NYC’s finest, not even Dinkins. Publicly telling the city that he instructed his son to fear the police is an outrage. He should be driven from office, I just to think “Tish” James was his saving grace, because she’d be worse…but now it’s hard to imagine anyone worse that bloviating political hack deBlasio.
As for #7 , DeBlasio, Sharpton, et al have used the deaths on Staten Island and Ferguson to score political points with their cadre of supporters. Now the shoe is on the other foot. Get used to it.
Calm down, what do you want from the Mayor, he is doing the best he can
Bring our true American and great leader Mayor Rudy Giuliani back!
Your dedication and love to our city is unforgettable!
may God bless the NYPD! The best police force in the entire world! for doing daily their best job to protect us, and to give the mayor the treatment he so deserves!
Mr Mayer, you are messing with the wrong peeps…! you need to listen to your wife when she tells you to take out the garbage, not how to lead the greatest city in the world! You don’t need to prove us your incompetency because you have done that already! Get your acts together….
To #8 - The voters of the City of New York, by a majority, elected DeBlasio Mayor of the City of New York. In a democracy, that is how it is done. If you don 217;t like DeBlasio, then don 217;t vote for him in 2017. When Mayor Bloomberg and Police Commissioner Kelly, unleashed the Tactical Patrol Force into Borough Park, in 2006, and harassed, shoved, manhandled, (both men and women) and pulled beards off frum people, where were all of the protestors on this site? They are complaining now, but they were not complaining then, especially after the cops were rough with Mr. Shick, and stated, 220;this is how we handle nig 212;-s 221;. I remember that Bloomberg was even welcomed back into Borough Park, when he ran for his third term in 2009. Also, Commissioner Kelly was constantly bowed down to. Fast forward to 2014; don 217;t blame Deblasio, because a killer kills two cops. Earier in the day, he attempted to kill his girlfriend. He was a sociopathic predator, whom Deblasio had nothing to do with!!
