It happened around 2 a.m. Friday at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s Hospital in Manhattan.
Police say the 31-year-old man died. The oxygen leak has been stopped, and the hospital is operating on a portable system until repairs are made.
Oxygen is often given to patients who come to emergency rooms or undergo surgery.
The New York Police Department says the emergency room was evacuated as a precaution and patients were being relocated to other rooms of the hospital. Incoming patients are being diverted to other hospitals.
Police are trying to figure out exactly where the man jumped from.
I can understand what he did. Those hospital elevators can take forever.
Hey, did you forget the point of the story??? A man jumped what happened to him???
What a twisted headline!! Man jumps off building….causing leak????? How about causing death? Or are we so careless and narcissistic a society to care that nebbech a person took his own life and pretty much the only issue is, well, it caused a leak in the tank and nothing happened, but we want to tell you about how a the poor tank got damaged and there waa a leak…….that was eventually closed…. sad. Sounds like an episode of Seinfeld
Bennyt so every time you visit Mt Sinai you don’t wait but jump?
