The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals issued its ruling today. It said it is not the court’s role to inject itself into city politics.
The appeals court acknowledged that some people think a change in law allowing Bloomberg to run again disregards the will of people who voted for term limits. But the court said it can decide only constitutional issues and legal claims.
Bloomberg persuaded the City Council last fall to extend term limits so he could run for a third term this year.
Yes bloomy we need billion airs in the city that won’t move out and continue to pay high taxes after unfortunatly all the richies are running away
Bums
Dictators!
The judge was promised by Bloomy that all his parking tickets will be waived.
Another 4 years of parking tickets out of control.
Why blame Bloomie.? Blame Felder and all other council members who voted to turn over Term Limits…..
Bloomberg Nisht Tzi Gut In Nisht Tsi Leit.
Higher Con Edosn bills, higher taxes on Cigarettes, higher real estate tax, higher water bills and more little fees wherever he can. A this fee and a that fee, fees fees everywhere.
Intersting how he manages to cut spending and raise taxes all at the same time.
This goes to prove that the City Council and the Mayor had the right to change the law.
YAY MIKE! go mike go!
NYC needs you.

so well said. the headline of this article makes it sound like the court ruled that he did the right think this is not true.

how can u say that we have a choice when we voted FOR term limits and doomberg was able to change it without asking us to approve it.

u r right we should hold our own politicians accountable and don’t vote for them again. they have disappointed us so many times already.
look at the bright side: it will much sweeter to see him LOSE the election then just simply stepping down. Anybody but Ticketberg
yes, go mike go…… and never come back.
Mr Bloomberg, please give rather the money that you are going to spend now on your campaign for tzedaka (charity), because you will anyway not going to make it. Because you hurt a lot of people with your parking tickets, sanitation tickets, taxes, etc….
Hide your cars and houses if you can. You are about to get many more parking tickets from the 300 pounders with the large sunglasses and many more saitation violation tickets from the garbage inspectors who speed around and park illegally..
Mr. Bloomberg thinks we will like the way he can show off that the budget is balanced, however, it is because he fines and taxes us to either pay him to show off, or to leave this city which I recommend if he wins.
And, my fellow commentators, who do you propose in these hard times could do a better job? Al Sharpton, Anthony Weiner? David Dinkins?
While I don’t care for the many tickets that are issued, I also am careful to always have a quarter available for a meter, and suggest that those of you who think you have an inalienable right to double park on 13th Ave. review some mussar while you’re there. You don’t have some “special right” to create your own parking rules.
