Mea Shearim – Israeli Prosecutors: Accused Starving Mother May Have Abused Other Children

    47

Mea Shearim – Jerusalem’s District Court heard Sunday that a woman from the Mea Shearim neighborhood accused of starving her son may have also abused her other children. The prosecution said it held evidence to this effect and asked to aggravate the conditions of her arrest.

The prosecution claims the woman abused her two-year old child in the same manner in which she had abused the toddler whose hospitalization brought about her arrest, citing intravenous needles mysteriously pulled from the children’s arms and the covert administration of drugs.

It also cited a case in which the mother’s six-year old daughter underwent a needless appendectomy at the former’s request. The mother’s uncle also testified that she would rub her son’s bandages, and a nurse testified that she saw the son eating under the table, so as not to be seen.

The prosecution told the court that the new charges had not yet been added to the indictment because the children could not be interrogated, due to postponement by the mother and her family.

The court also heard testimonies the prosecution had acquired from various doctors and nurses, who said the mother would feed her son melon rinds and that he would gobble the food they gave him with relish – which helped them to realize he was being starved.

The prosecution also claims that the mother would disconnect IV bags and replace them with empty ones, thus causing doctors to fear that the boy’s intestines could not handle food and stopping his feedings.

The doctors then planned to perform a bone marrow transfusion, the prosecution says, and despite her knowledge that the procedure was superfluous the mother did not say a word.

The prosecution is also continuing to claim the mother has Munchausen’s disease, despite a psychological evaluation to the contrary, and says the children should be examined by a child psychologist.

Unbelievable! The mother’s six-year old daughter underwent a needless appendectomy at the former’s request.
    Are they crazy???
Did you ever hear a Doctor do an appendectomy at the mother’s request??? And how do they know now that it was needless? Sounds like a bunch of balony!

I truly hope these charges are false. However, if the prosecution has definitive evidence that the child/children have been abused, than we have to say B”H, this woman will be stopped from abuse, and treated for a mental illness. Once she has been treated then she can go home and be a true mother to her children.

This story is becoming worse every day! I think it’s time to take away her children, nebech on them that they have such a sick mother. She needs help ASAP before the other children become a victim of her abuse!

This is tragic any way you look at it. My only concern is that the children are free of abuse. The mother, if she needs it, should get care for her mental health issues.

Like many, I wish these charges weren’t true, but I’ve had a bad feeling about this from the beginning. For those saying the doctors are at fault for treating things unnecessarily, don’t you realize that when treating minors doctors must rely on information offered by parents? Things like a strep throat can be tested for easily, but sometimes a mother’s words are the basis for a diagnosis. Under normal circumstances, why would anyone think she is making stuff up?
In an interview featured a few weeks ago in Mishpacha, the frum doctor at Hadassa said that the mother begged them to refrain from feeding the child because she couldn’t watch him throw up and be in pain anymore. That’s why they put him on feeding tubes. Only later did they realize that what she told them was probably not true, and when they resumed feeding him properly, he gained weight.
Unfortunately, I’m inclined to believe the doctors’ version of events, and I’m afraid this mother is nebach in need of a lot of help.

I really wish these “chareidim” would stand up for real tragedies…. such as an abused wife, beaten up by her husband. But no, they just want to deny deny deny, while victims continue to suffer. They really seem to deny reality at the expense of innocent children.

I also underwent a needless appendectomy, together with a needed inguinal hernia operation, because my older brother died from appendicitis at age 2…

To all fools who say that the mother TOLD the doctor it hurt.
Don’t you think that a doctor would examine the child, and ask her what & where it hurts. Don’t you think that the child was screaming in pain, especially when poked, and therefore the doctors concluded it was the appendix. So what could the mother have faked. And again, if your theory is correct that after taking it out they didn’t see any damage under the microscope, then you have another case of doctor’s misdiagnosis of a stomach ache!

To Dear Lishma #23 and other accusers:
Let me educate you with a little bit of Jewish history and its “Blood Bilbuls”:
    1. What do you know about: The Blit Bilbul of Tisza Eszlar?
    2. What do you know about: The Dreyfus Affair?
    3. What do you know about: The Hakodosh Mendel Beilis Trial?

Just to name a few of the most recent Blood Bilbuls against Jews in the last 150 years! All of these TERRIBLE bilbuls were DEBUNKED with much Tzaar and great cost by expensive lawyers and journalists at long and painful court trials. So, unless and until you–Lishma– can prove to everyone here, that you have “Rua’ch Ha’Kodesh” and you are absolutely certain that this Poor Mother is guilty as charged, you are transgressing an Aveira (sin) “LISHMA,” in Chodesh Elul.
IT’S NOT TOO LATE YET FOR TESHUVA!!!

The reason we have all this accusers before even going to trial is:
They feel a complex as a jew that one of their own is doing something bad

And they don’t have the confidence to face it

Proof!! They say its not the its not all jews its only charaidim and not all charaidim only chasisim not all chasidim only the ultra

That’s a clear sign that they are pushing away the story from taking responsebility for it (like someone was asking from them)

Those people when they travel they probebly (yes isaid probebly)hide their jewish looks from others since they are ashamed to face it in front of the goyim

    To Formally #32 & OMG #33 :
    I. Formally
Let’s have a rational conversation of give & take:
    1. No, I don’t claim to have Ruach Hakodesh, so I really don’t know with my own powers as to which side, the hospital or the mother, is telling the absolute stellar, pure truth.
    2. What we do know for certain at the present time is, that some hospitals, in some places in Eretz Yisroel, in the USA, and likely, in many places in the world ARE EXPERIMENTING ON PATIENTS (with or without the patient’s consent!). Do a Google search for the last 2 months and you’ll discover plenty. Case in point: A hospital in an Israeli city was experimenting on senior citizens, and the case is in the courts and in the newspapers. Also, recently, there were stories of much wrong-doing in several New York hospitals, including Jacobi Hospital in the Bronx.
    3. So, the concept of experimenting on patients is not foreign, nor is it totally false!
4.Now: this mother did not go to the police to have doctors arrested and mistreated, like she was, on her allegations or suspicions. NO! The Hospital HAD HER ARRESTED ON “ALLEGED” SUSPICIONS OF ABUSE!!
    5. In Jewish Law (Halacha) we have a concept of: “Ha’Motzi M’Chavero Allav Ha’Raya” (the onus of proof is on the Plaintiff). Now, think for a moment. If this law applies to money & civil matters, then, Kal V’Chomer (how much more) when it comes to criminal accusations!! THE HOSPITAL HAD THE MOTHER ARRESTED AS A CRIMINAL!! Don’t you think that the total onus is on the hospital and the Jewish doctors, some of whom learn Torah, that they should be Super Careful not to accuse falsely?
    6. Undisputed facts: this expectant mother was arrested, mistreated, & yes, ABUSED & MALIGNED. So, even though, she didn’t have her day in court, which should be everyone’s right in a democratic society, SHE ALREADY WAS LYNCHED IN THE COURT OF PUBLIC OPINION, AND BY SOME ON THIS BLOG!
    7. Lastly, Formally: Follow the money! Who stands more to lose in this battle. IF THE MOTHER WINS: the hospital loses a) Big Money; b) Big Prestige. IF THE HOSPITAL WINS: the hospital keeps the money & the good name!! NOW, IS THAT A GOOD MOTIVATION FOR THE HOSPITAL TO KEEP SPINNING & SPINNING & SPINNING even more in order the BREAK THIS POOR, UNFORTUNATE MOTHER??? YES or No??? You are excused!!!

    To: OMG #33

In the strict didactic sense, this hospital case vs. the mother, is not considered a “blood libel,” but it is not an ordinary, everyday accusation either. Let’s examine a few aspects and see if resembles a libel. Also note that not all accusations against Jews were blood libels, but nevertheless, were very harmful and dangerous. Case in point: The Dreyfus Affair.

Point 1: IN A LIBEL, half-truths or outright lies are spread against 1 or more people of a non-favored group. The accuser initally has the upper hand, for they are much more believable than the individual(s) who are accused. NOW: WHO HAS MORE STATUS IN ISRAEL: A FAMOUS RESEARCH HOSPITAL OR A POOR, “IGNORANT” MEAH SHE’ORIM MOTHER???

Point 2: Yes, this case also resembles a libel, because, people have been writing on this blog and more widely in the press, that such “abuses” and others are very prevalent among the ultra-orthdox! None of these libelers and slanderers proved beyond a doubt that this is so. Nevertheless, we painfully read, too many times to count, how this group is accusing that group, etc.

Point 3: If we truly yearn for Moshiach Tzidkeinu too come soon, then we all, collectively, have to stop with these baseless accusations against our own, even if the hat and clothing are different, and other minhagim are observed. KULANU B’NAI ISH ECHAD ANACHNU!!!

what “baseless allegations”? there seems ot be plenty of evidence to implicate this mother… whether she is innocent or guilty has yet to be determined, but it’s not liek they randomly arrested her…

Seems to me, the more the Drs. try to label the Mother as the CRAZY one – the more they are proving it is THEY who are CRAZIER. A mother can scream all she wants, bur which NORMAL Dr. would give in to her requests if they are not medically necessary or safe??? Makes zero sense – there got to be more info nobody is sharing with the public.
