Spokesman Anthony Coley said Corzine met with State Police Superintendent Col. Rick Fuentes and Attorney General Stuart Rabner, as well as two state police investigators, for a half-hour Tuesday at the governor’s mansion in Princeton to discuss the accident.
As the meeting ended, Coley said Corzine asked Fuentes for a ticket. He said Fuentes wrote one and Corzine wrote a check for $46.
Coley said the check will be sent by overnight mail to a municipal court in Galloway, where the accident happened. [AP]
This is a disgrace and a horrible example. If he doesn’t follow his own laws, then why should anyone else?? Governor Corzine, who should live and recover and be well, owes Hashem a tremendous gratitude for saving his life. He should do public service announcements on TV and Radio that say “Hi, I was ignorant and made a tremendous mistake and didn’t wear my seat belt in the front seat of a car going 90 miles an hour. Don’t be like me.” Its very hypocritical and he should be punished the way others would be and be made an example of.
$46….
what a joke.
this man is a multi millionare and 46 dollars means nothing for him
governor corzine is a bad example. he deserves to be punished more severely than a 46 dollar fine for violating the LAW. he is the chief lawmaker in the state, and if he does not obey the law why should anyone else
Funny thing is, if he wanted to, he could have challenged the court summons by demanding proof that he was in the front seat in the first place.
Had he claimed he was in the back seat, all the bad publicity would have just melted away.
