Bloomfield, CT – A 15-year-old girl missing for nearly a year was found Wednesday locked in a small hidden room under the staircase of a couple’s West Hartford home, police said.

Bloomfield police said they found the girl alive in a room blocked from view by a cabinet.
Police arrested a couple and set bail for $600K, Police said they expect to make additional arrests. They are investigating whether he has been involved in any similar incidents.
VIN has confirmed the the name of the girl is Danielle Cramer, and she appeared on the missing kids network for more then a year. [VIN]

The people who held her were known to her familyDuring an afternoon news conference, Bloomfield Police Capt. Jeffrey Blatter said Cramer “is a child from troubled circumstances and found what she believed to be was a friend.”
Police said Gault may have been having other inappropriate relationships with other young females as well.
They do not believe that Cramer was living in the hidden room, but instead may have been placed there in hiding.
Blatter did not comment on Cramer’s condition, but said her skin coloring was noticeably pale and did not speak much to officers. After being taken into protective custody she was sent for examination by a medical staff, but no other details on her condition were released.
“We can all assume that a 14-year-old under the influence of a 40-year-old has been harmed in some way,” Blatter said.
Cramer’s parents were said to be “very relieved, very shocked. They absolutely did not expect it,” Blatter said.
Cramer went missing on June 16, 2006, and though it was believed she may have ran away because she was said to have run away several times before, police were unable to confirm that was the case and suspected foul play. No one had heard from here since she disappeared.
Investigators say they expect to make more arrests.
Gault is currently being held on $500,000 bond, while Murphy is behind held on $100,000 bond.

Following a year-long Bloomfield Police investigation, a local 15-year-old, who has been missing since June 16, 2006 (14-years-old at the time) has been located at a residence in West Hartford. The juvenile was found locked in a small hidden room under a staircase, which was blocked from view by a cabinet.
The discovery occurred when Bloomfield and West Hartford Officers went to the residence to serve multiple search warrants for DNA and other item of evidentiary value. The discovery of the missing juvenile was unexpected, but of great relief to investigators, who feared the worst based on the evidence compiled to date.
