    Mogilyov, Belarus – Four gravestones in a Jewish cemetery were knocked down by vandals.

    Relatives of those buried in the graves appealed to the police, who theorized that the heavy tombstones may have been knocked down by a wind storm.

     

    But Naum Ioffe, a local Jewish leader, said that there have been no strong storms in Mogilyov in recent days, calling the policeman's theory "fantastic." In addition, the cemetery has been vandalized before. [JTA]

    Now we have a theory of what might possibly have happened to the thousands of Belarussian Jews who went missing during WWII.
    They trespassed on private land,
    where construction of huge, olympic
    size swimming pools was in progress
    while the annual duck hunt went on in the nearby forest. Pity the belarussian peasants, who are such poor marks. Yimach Shemon Vezichrom.
