Shalom Stone, a lawyer who graduated from Yeshiva University, is the Bush administration's nomination to the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He would replace Samuel Alito, who ascended last year to the U.S. Supreme Court.
But the White House did not consult in the nomination with Sens. Frank Lautenberg and Robert Menendez, both Democrats, although such consultations are a traditional courtesy.
"The White House is basically telling us, 'We do not want to cooperate on this nomination,'" Dan Katz, Lautenberg's spokesman, said "It is clear they are not acting in good faith to pick a judge for New Jersey. There is clearly another agenda at play. [jta]
Hey Mark:
It always gives me “Naches” that some people remember the nicknamese that I dished out on the radio.
Thanks for reminding me about all the lovely names—Yes of Course, the great State of NJ Home of Flim Flam Florio and Lausenberg etc.
Now Mark (the great one) would you please remind that ‘gavone’ on your station to stop copying my shtick all morning long. You know what I’m talking about PAL
You tell that fake phony fraud, broken like a cheap camera,Sharpie Curtis to stop using all my material every morning. It drives me nuts
Now get off my phone you spachime.
Lauseberg should shut his pisk! The prez DOES NOT HAVE TO ask them for their haskoma as if they would have given it anyway.
“Senatorial courtesy” notwithstanding, the Democrats (which basically control NJ)should shveig shtill and appoint all their leftists to the State Courts.
But H-shem yishmor President Bush appoints a conservative (at least I assume so) to the Federal Bench all the cry babys come out of the woodwork.
At the Senate hearings on Samuel Alito you saw how “courteous” the Democrat Senators were with his appointment to the Supreme Court.
