    Albany, NY – Authorities say a Thruway travel plaza outside Albany and a stretch of the highway near the Massachusetts line have been closed as state police investigate a bomb threat.

    The state Thruway Authority said the travel plaza between Exits 24 and 25 in suburban Guilderland was closed around 10 a.m. and about 50 minutes later, the agency said that the Berkshire Spur of Interstate 90 is shut down in both directions between Exits B3 and B2 in Columbia County.

    State police Lt. Glenn Miner says troopers have stopped a car and are interviewing a person about what he described as an “idle” bomb threat. He had no other details about the nature of the threat. [ap]

    The New York State Thruway Authority just reopened the Guilderland Travel Plaza on the NYS Thruway on the eastbound side between exits 24 and 25 after a reported bomb threat this morning.

    The bomb threat was unfounded and the incident was cleared Thruway Authority reopened the Plaza and traffic resumed to normal.
