Andrique Baron, who pleaded not guilty to taking bribes and falsifying business records, told detectives after his arrest that he was merely experimenting on the computer and not altering grades.
"My job doesn't call for changing grades," Baron said. "I would have no reason to change grades."

Baron, who was Touro's admissions director for 13 years, was among 10 people charged last month in a scam that put everything from grades to diplomas up for sale at the college.
"I made changes to records," Baron told police. "But they were not live, they were tests, to test and research the system." [nydailynews]

this school is so desparate, they are looking to save their hide.

I hate this school, however, my significant half forces my children to go there as it is the “frumee” thing to do.

Now, if MR. B.. would get paid in Monopoly currency, there might be some credibility to his argument. But he (allegedly) got paid in real
    USA Dollars.

And the “students” who received major grade changes, and even whole unwarranted degrees, they were part of the test also, right?

And the students who used these fake degrees to get jobs, they were just testing the employers, right?

I love lawyers. Better than science fiction writers.
