The youthful ingredient comes in the form of Mark Lerer, who at 19 figures he's ready to take on the town's top job in the Highway Department.
Superintendent of Highways Anthony Sharan said the election should swing in the direction of his experience and performance.

The job will pay a salary next year of $107,407.
"Let the experience speak for itself," Sharan said, referring to his more than 40 years in the department – minus four years in the Marine Corps.
The department is responsible for about 300 miles of road. Sharan said the town was ready to embark next year on a project to widen Maple Avenue in Monsey between Saddle River Road and Monsey Boulevard. A third lane for turns will be added, which could reduce the traffic congestion from cars backing up near Maple Avenue intersections.

And then when the 19-year old Chief Road superintendent will feel like taking off somewhere with his friends
the whole town will have to wait till he finished playing hookey.

I have nothing against 19-year olds.
I was Nineteen Years old myself (a long time ago).
