Israel – According to JTA The Bush administration announced that veteran diplomat James Cunningham will replace Richard Jones as U.S. envoy in Tel Aviv when the latter ends his term this summer.

Cunningham is currently U.S. consul-general in Hong Kong, and previously served as ambassador to the United Nations.
The US envoy to Israel belongs in Jerusalem, not Tel Aviv.
