Q: How do you deal with suicide bombers who greatest joy is ie in conflict?
A: The last major conflict that included suicide bombers were the Kamakazi bombers of WWII. I believe the US won that conflict. Simply put the two ways to end a war are:
1)If both parties want peace -negotiation.
2)If one side does not want peace – overwhelming military superiority so they are forced to take peace. It’s been done before, it can be done again. If America complains we can say we learnt it from them.

No one is minimizing the evil of what our enemies have done to us. They will pay in time as have the Egyptians, philisteins, Greeks, Romans, and all others who have harmed us in the past. Hashem does not let any evil deed go unpunished and no one in klal yisrael is minimizing the horror of it all.
Still, the fact remains that when something happens to klal yisrael we have to look at ourselves an see what Hashem is trying to tell us. Everything in this world is a message, especially something so close to home! Hashem is telling us that something isn’t right and we have a responsibility to figure out what and try our best to improve ourselves! Everything in this world is a message! But the Arabs have chosen to be the messenger and for this there is no forgiveness!

    I’m sick about what happened.

I’m getting even sicker hearing people attribute it to cell phones or lashon hara.

Stop trying to minimize the evil our enemies do and stop blaming Jews for it.

People who have their cell phones ring in shul may be rude but they are not the cause of these tragedies.

You are trivializing what our enemies do.

What a way to enter a new month.

    Hashem Yirachem.

just to try and clarify things, from the many different sources i’ve read, apparently there was only ONE shooter and so far 8 confirmed killed and 9 wounded. Original reports of explosive belts and 2nd and 3rd shooters have been all but shot down so far by every other news agency out there. From being just blocks away from this shooting, my school was warned at first not to go outside and lock our doors in case there was a 2nd terrorist but now everyone has nothing to worry about.

I am posting this online wherever I can. Please feel free to print this out and hang it up wherever you’d like- in shuls, schools, yeshivas:

We all know what has happened today at Yeshivat Mercas HaRav. Eight yeshiva students, five high schoolers and three yeshiva gedola students, were killed in cold blood by an Arab with a kippa. PLEASE, we cannot let this go on without this changing us in some way. We must do two things: ONE, in whatever way you can, fight against this injustice. Whenever you see any slanted media reporting, write a letter to the editor. Write or call the White House about Jonathan Pollard or Darfur. Check Israeli websites EVERY DAY and subscribe to their email list to keep up on the news. Comment on their sites. Comment on blogs. Call politicians. Hashem gave us free choice, and we have the power to change the world if we so will it. SECOND: we have to look within ourselves and our society and find what it is that is faulty within us. Whether it is society at large- and there is no lack of that- or ourselves as a whole, WE MUST CHANGE, or there will be no end to the tragedy! The Ribono Shel Olam is looking down at us from shamayim and waiting to see our reaction when we are killed and trampled on. And this is why I am begging you to please do two thing: one, to take on a kaballah, any kaballah, that you will do something to end the tragedy within us- whether it is an email to the White House to free Jonathan Pollard every day, whether it is davening every day, whether it is spreading ahavas chinam in klal Yisrael- TAKE ON SOMETHING to show Hashem that we really care, and do not live our lives in our bubble. Look within yourself to see what it is that Hashem wants you to be and begin working on that goal. TWO- START SAYING ACHEINU every day. Stand up and say it in shul, school, on the train, wherever there are Jews who belong to our nation. This cannot go on forever. We must stop this and bring forth the Mashiach already. ***Enough is enough.***

    Please daven for the injured:
    Naftali ben Gila
    Yonatan ben Avital
    Shimon ben Tirza
    Nadav ben Hadas
    Reuven ben Naomi
    Elchanan by Zehava

and say Tehillem for them and those who tragically were killed. Also tragic is the attack on Israeli soldiers this morning, and Rabbi Segal’s death.
Tens of rockets fall on Sderot each day. We cannot let this go on!
Mercas HaRav’s address is [email protected]

Davening is very important but throughout our long and painful history we have prevailed over our enemies when we have shown no fear on the battlefield. Read the psukim in the Torah: send the newly-married soldier home; send home those that are fearful. Only then can we be victorious when we meet our enemies with chayalim and their commanders who dare to fight. Where is the Government of Israel? They lack the will to fight because they fear the enemy, but have no fear of Hashem.

    BS”D

The loss of any Jew is a terrible tragedy. Especially the destruction of so many elite students.

This is one of the greatest tragedies in recent Jewish history.

When a calamity of such proportion strikes our people, it is incumbent upon Jews worldwide to examine our ways, and consider taking on or improving our observance of some Mitzvah. Especially the study of the laws of TZNIUS, TZNIUS, and TZNIUS, gossip-lashon hara in the books of the Chofetz Chaim are appropriate at such times. This serves a dual purpose: to do something in the memory of these holy martys, and to be cognizant of the Heavenly wake-up call with a positive action.

May their blood be avenged, and may we never hear of such tragedies again, and merit the coming of Moshiach speedily in our days.

READ THE AP NEWS STORY AND WEEP.

“Hamas stopped just short of claiming responsibility for the Jerusalem shootings. “We bless the operation. It will not be the last,” Hamas said in a statement sent to reporters by text message.

At mosques in Gaza City and the northern Gaza Strip, many residents performed prayers of thanksgiving — only performed in cases of great victory to thank God.

About 7,000 Gazans marched in the streets of Jebaliya, firing in the air in celebration, and visited homes of those killed and wounded in the last Israeli incursion. In the southern town of Rafah, residents distributed sweets to moving cars, and militants fired mortars in celebration.”

IN this Chodesh of Al Hanisim let us Daven to H-shem for a nes that we should patter ourselves from Yishmael that “performed prayers of thanksgiving — only performed in cases of great victory.’

H-shem Yishmor this is their “great victory”.

    May H-shem protect us.

One medic arrived at the scene as gunfire was still being exchanged.
“The terrorist was shooting at us. We all hide under the cars, under the buses that were here.
“When we got in after the police guys sterilised the place, there was a terrible scene.
“We saw young guys, 15-, 16-year-old guys lying on the floor with their Bibles in their hands, all dead on the floor because the terrorist guys went inside the place and killed those eight or nine young guys who were only here learning in Jerusalem.”
    ‘Slaughterhouse’
Yehuda Meshi Zahav, head of the Zaka rescue service, entered the library after the attack.
I shot him twice in the head. He started to swayYitzhak Dadon “The whole building looked like a slaughterhouse,” he said. “The floor was covered in blood. The students were in class at the time of the attack.
“The floors are littered with holy books covered in blood.”
Students are reported to have jumped out of the building as the gunman opened fire.
One of the students, Yitzhak Dadon, said the attacker was wearing torn jeans and fired at the students with a Kalashnikov assault rifle. Mr Dadon said he shot the attacker twice in the head, wounding him.
“I laid on the roof of the study hall, cocked my gun and waited for him. He came out of the library spraying automatic fire,” he said.
“I shot him twice in the head. He started to sway and then someone else with a rifle fired at him, and he died.”

    Thank You 5:04pm

The marshas on MSNBC called those that did this dastardly deed “the so called terrorist.”

    What should they be called?

I hope the oilem is aware that when President Bush called the current American campaign “the war against terror” the left wing media hates that language.

In their perverted view, they are not terrorist but infiltrators.

    Not terrorist, but freedom fighters.

    Not terrorist, but guerrilla warfare.

We should wake up to these nuances and call them for what it is:

This is desperate attempt by the media to minimize the severity of todays horrible occurance.

This reporter is feckless and very irresponsible. Yes, words do hurt when they are specifically targeted to minimize the terrible tragedy.

    RABOSAI lets say all together:
Avinu Malkeinu Nekon Nikmas Dam Avadechuh Hashufuch
Aveenu Malkeinu Batel Machshevos Son’einu. May we never hear such tzoros.

May the niftarim HY”D be malitzei Yosher for the entire Klal Yisrael.

Ehud, a non military man, doesnt know ow to let the army fight the war it wants to fight. He pulled out of Gaza last week after only entering a few KM. The army wanted to go in to the place they fire rockets from. He held the army back in Lebanon. He is a fool. He should bedeposed immediatley and an Army man put in. Maybe a coup d’etat is warranted even though “es passt nisht” for us Jews. Time to get tough. The EU cries about disproportionate response. When they come into your house to kill you, there is no such thing as dispropotionate. When the Saudis hacck off a hand for stealing, thats dipropotionate. But when they come to kill innocent civilians, and the “they” is the Democratically elected so called govt of Gaza, all their civilians are guilty as terrorists. Shut off the electricity and water. Let them die from dysentery.

need to take over Gaza the west bank and some more territory to make a larger separation between these murderers and their targeted victims. We need to start worrying about the lives of our brethren and forget the politics already!!!

Needs to be much more controlled in terms of letting Palestinians into the country. Go in there and launch a major offensive, one that they wont be able to recuperate from.

    ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

quote from Yahoo news “In Gaza City, residents went out into the streets and fired rifles in celebration in the air after hearing news of the attack on the seminary.”

It is time to level Gaza city. Let them celebrate as bombs fall on them.

When will Israel learn that there will NEVER be true peace. These current peace talks with the PLO are not even going to apply to the Gaza as that is not controlled PLO (not that it makes a difference, the terrorist groups will continue with or without the PLO signing an agreement.)

The only way to end this is to go back to the ways in the seventies – where we did not care about world condemnation and did what was needed to be done to protect ourselves. In those days the Arabs were scared. It is time to go back to that.
