Lightning injures and kills more people than hurricanes, snow storms, rain storms and most other weather related dangerous storms, according to CBS 2 meteorologist.
What a scary statistic.
Whenever you hear thunder and see lightning you are within a 3 mile radius of a major storm. If you hear thunder and or see lightning go inside immediately. Camp Horim should have used extreme caution.
The summer is not over so take this as a warning and safety precaution.
AGAIN: WHEN YOU SEE LIGHTNING AND/ OR HEAR THUNDER GO INSIDE BECAUSE YOUR WITHIN A 3 MILE RADIUS OF A MAJOR STORM.
I’m surprised that the booklets which are mailed to most people in the NY NJ area cover just about every safety precaution except LIGHTNING.
(maybe I just missed the page but I did not see this topic in this years booklet.)
