Pittsburgh, PA – Police tell KDKA that a campaign volunteer has now confessed to making up a story that a mugger attacked her and cut the letter B in her face after seeing her McCain bumper sticker.

Ashley Todd, 20, of Texas, initially told police that she was robbed at an ATM in Bloomfield and that the suspect became enraged and started beating her after seeing her GOP sticker on her car.
Police investigating the alleged attack, however, began to notice some inconsistencies in her story and administered a polygraph test.
Authorities, however, declined to release the results of that test.
Investigators did say that they received photos from the ATM machine and “the photographs were verified as not being the victim making the transaction.”
This afternoon, a Pittsburgh police commander told KDKA Investigator Marty Griffin that Todd confessed to making up the story.
The commander added that Todd will face charges; but police have not commented on what those charges will be.
Authorities are expected to release more details at a news conference this afternoon.
According to police, investigators working on the interview process detected several inconsistencies in Todd’s story that differed from statements made in the original police report.
Pittsburgh Police Public Information Officer Diane Richard released a statement earlier today, saying: “Because of the inconsistencies in her statements, Ms. Todd was asked to submit to a polygraph examination which she agreed to do.”
No photos of Todd are being released by Pittsburgh Police at this time.
I hate to say it because it would have been a great story, but the “B” on her cheek is backwards which leads me to believe that this not so bright girl did it herself while looking in the mirror, which would make the “B” backwards!

You don’t have to be a Rabbi Akiva Eiger to realize that she made the B by herself in the mirror and didn’t realize that it would come out mirrored. A black guy or any assailant for that matter would not have written it in mirror.

Assumimg it was a robber he could have held her down by her head on the ground and done it upside down which would make it NOT mirrored. ur only assuming it being backwards because u assume it was donw while she was in an upright position . just my 2 cents
Yeah, it could all be a haox — just like that black Columbia University professor (later fired for plagarism) who tried to cast herself as a victim of “racism” by having someone hang a noose outside her office door (no wonder Columbia didn’t want to let the cops investigating the alleged “hate crime” have the surveillance video — citing civil liberties grounds!). Or like the whole racist Tawana Brawly hoax. But count on the left-wing media that bought into both of those hoaxes, hook, line and sinker, to stridently rake this deluded woman over the coals — and cite it as just one more “proof” that McCain is supposedly running a “nasty,” “racist” campaign.
In her initial report to the police (which she has now apparently contradicted), she said that the assailant sat on her chest and pinned her hands down with his knees.
So much for her being upside down.
And according to news reports, she has confessed to police that it was a hoax, and she is now facing charges.
