The iconic skyscraper is splitting its tower lights tonight between red for Republican candidate John McCain, and blue for Democrat Barack Obama. It’s part of an unprecedented four nights of election-themed lighting.

Plans call for featuring the winner’s color Wednesday night, provided the race is resolved. If not, the red-blue divide will remain.

The building sported red, blue and white lights to celebrate democracy on Monday. The same scheme is planned Thursday.

The tower has taken on election-related lighting for a single night during some past balloting. It was illuminated for the first time to signal Franklin D. Roosevelt’s White House win in 1932.

Early polls show Obama in the lead.

However that is expected to change when the white people get out of work.
