The court ruled in favor of Crescent Heights Diamond LLC, owned by Cahn and his partners, and ordered Trump Marks LLC to pay court costs.
In May, Trump sued Crescent Heights over the right to use the name “Trump Towers” for the planned luxury 70-storey residential and office high-rise to be built on the Elite lot in Ramat Gan, near the Diamond Exchange.
Trump claimed that under the license agreement, he was to receive 25% of the proceeds from the sale of each apartment, plus royalties.
However, Crescent Heights did not build the project, and sold the land to Azorim Investment, controlled by Shaya Boymelgreen, for $80 million, making a $36 million profit on the deal.
The New York Supreme Court in Manhattan sided with Crescent Heights. The court ruled that Trump Marks had no cause, since the license agreement did not oblige Crescent Heights to build the project, nor did it prevent the company from selling the land to a third party. Therefore, Trump’s demand for a share in profits from the sale of the land is without merit.
mazel tov sonny
is this sonny from the casablanca hotel on collins ave?
Clear cut case against Trump. He is either a poor negotiator or his attorneys are shoddy for not negotiating a piece of the profit, in the event the development does not proceed.
What, the Donald didn’t get his way?! Poor fella.
And they say Trump is smart? Give me a break! He never had a case! Only likes to sue everyone because he thinks he can bully them! Thank goodness for people like Sonny Kahn who stands up to Bullies and does not allow them to make money filing stupid lawsuits for no reason what so ever! It was time for the famous Trump to trump himself and become the loser!!!
