Cottage Grove MN – Kiddush Hashem: In Newspaper Letter Woman Stranded In Snow Thanks Mystery Chabad Yeshiva Students For Their Help

    49

The yeshiva students who helped her from left: Binyamin Weiss, Levi Waks, Reuven Weiss and Zalmy PlotkeCottage Grove MN – I am writing to tell you of an incident which happened to me on a wildly snowy Thursday afternoon. On my way home from work in Mendota Heights, my car had already gotten stuck several times. As I reached the unplowed streets of Cottage Grove, I knew I would be getting stuck again. I approached the 80th Street and East Point Douglas intersection, which is very busy. When the light turned red and the wheels lost their traction, I sat there spinning my wheels as many cars and even snow plows went around me without stopping.

All of a sudden, a white passenger van pulled alongside me and several young men dressed in black fedora hats and long overcoats jumped out of the van. Without the benefit of mittens or boots, they selflessly began pushing my car until I got moving again. And it took several of them to push to keep my vehicle moving! The van and passengers went on to follow me to my destination. I was very touched and unable to thank them, because I knew if I stopped again, that I would get stuck again.

I am making the assumption that these young heroes are Yeshiva school students due to their distinctive, formal clothing. The school is doing a very good job teaching the students about basic decency and courtesy. They cheerfully waved at me as I pulled away, trying to shake the snow out of their now wet shoes. They had put themselves at risk dodging other cars that probably couldn’t have fully stopped in that slop. I admire their courage and compassion. What a tribute to the school’s work and their families!

Thank you bochurim (as well as all individuals who go out of their way) for creating a kiddush hashem. There are way too many “Madoffs” we have to make up for!

I hope they asked a shialah to a Rov if they are allowed to do so much Bitul Toirah! Did these buchorim take it upon themselves to decide such a serious p’sak or did they ask their Rov or mashgiach??? On the streets, there are enough “kiddush Hashem’s” and Chessed jobs to close down all the Yeshivas – but chas ve’shulem, Limud haToirah has priority! V’Talmud Toirah Ki’Neged Kulam!!

As a bochur, I must comment: A “bochur” (translated “chosen one”), is an amassador of HKB”H. It is beneath his dignity (ayno lefi kvodo) to push a car on a public road. It is a bizuy of a cheftzah of Torah – misusing a keli of kodesh for chullin. That would NOT be a Kiddush Hashem, adaraba!

    To #19 and #14 :

Please let me know who you are. Should you ever be in need of help I want to let everyone around know that it is a chillul H” to help you. This is very important, we would not want you to be involved in our issurim…. you morons.

If I knew who you were, I’d fly there just for the privilege of spitting in your face just to show you what a worthless piece of filth you are.

I pity the poor, unsuspecting women who end up marrying these arrogant, self-centered, narcissistic apikorsim. I also wonder which yeshivos are teaching such nonsense so I can make sure I’m not sending my money there.

A true Talmid Chochom “lives” what he learns. We are very proud of these Yeshiva Bochurim from Chabad. Chabad does a very good job of teaching their students to live in and still elevate the world out there. It’s very easy to be a Tzadik in Peltz.
It’s quite a feat to be a good Yid out of theDaled Amos of the Yeshiva.
Chabad teaches their students how to pull it off.
We can all learn a thing or two from them.

“They cheerfully waved at me as I pulled away”

It was a nice selfless deed of ahavas chinom (assuming the recipient was misheluni)
However the bochrim seemed to have forgotton a siman in shulchan oruch even ha-ezer 21 “assur likrotz bi’yadov obi’raglov o liramez bi’ainov. I have no relation to 14 and 19 they are clealry from the people that occupied the marketplace in Lefet that Reb Broka Chaza’ah frequented. (Ta’anis 22A)

It is gratifying to see Yeshiva bochurim making use of what they have learned. If only this was the rule and not the exception.

To kollel guy. Hamaaser hu ha’ikkar, the whole point of learning Torah is to put it into action, what good is the knowledge if its not shown. Some people might be “gedolim” in their knowledge but lack the manners associated with such chochma h as well. These bochurim went out of their way to help a stranger.
14 and 19, I highly doubt your learning is bring Hashem any joy as your arrogance is pushing Him away.
If the bochurim were thinking Chassidius while pushing the car would that be ok or still not as its Chassidus? Please keep your sinah to yourselves.

As the Rambam writes, the world stands in perfect balance waiting to be judged, ana ction chas v’shalom against Hashems will will tip it for the negative, what these bochurim did was tip thats scale for the positive. They did something positive which I can see 14 & 19 haven’t. if you claim to be the future of our people I turn to Hashem and beg enough, if thats what we are about we have no future.

Keep up the good work Chabad and any Jew and let these fools be silenced.

It is not necessarily (or only) chassidus or mussar that ## 14 & 19 are lacking — more fundamentally, it is lomdus, #14 — it is not enough to simply say the Mishnah in Peah every day in Birchus HaShachar — go learn the Misnah with the M’Forshim — perhaps ask someone to review the Yerushalmi with you — then you will see how badly you have misconstrued this Misnah — #19 — stop repeating phrases and go study the inyan of Azoiv Tazoiv and Zaken v’anoi lefi k’vodo — maybe then you too will see how you have misapplied the halacha

Thank you Vos Iz Neias for posting the comments of “Kollel for Life” & “A Real Bochur”. It is a true eye opening experience to get a snap shot of how “others” (you know who I mean) think and their hashkofos that have gone off the deep end. There is still so much work to be done to bring moshiach, including within the “yeshivish world”. Nebech! Ashrenu that we are chassidim!! Today, I am so proud to say “v’hivdilonu min hato’im”!!!

When one learns Torah he can be potur from tfilah. While learning, one does not need to give an onie tzedaka (because one is being oysek b’mitzvah).

I know that each day when I am mechadesh chidushim, HKB”K has nachas (nichoach), as if I was maktir ktores in the Kodesh Kadoshim.

I am on the road of gadlus, a Godal in the making. That is exciting and rewarding in itself. Dedicating my life to immerse myself in chochmas ha’boreh.
