State Senate President Richard Codey cited Napolitano’s response to the botched Christmas Day attempt to blow up a Detroit-bound airliner.
In a letter sent Wednesday to Napolitano, Codey asserts that “the entire episode was handled poorly.”
Codey and Napolitano are both Democrats.
Napolitano was governor of Arizona before taking the federal post. She previously served as U.S. attorney for Arizona and the state’s attorney general.
White House officials have said President Obama remains confident in Napolitano.
Cody has no expertise in intelligence and a State Senator in New Jersy will be properly ignored by the Administration. The president can decide whether or not to keep her on but hopefully will ignore comments from politcal hacks.
i met nepolitano and heard her speak at a private event. I was quaking in my boots. nice lady, in fact very nice lady yet her apparent lack of acumen made it frightful to realise she is entrusted with our security.
Bam is even less qualified for his job; maybe we start by impeaching him?
what she said (the system worked) she ment the system of comunicating to other cariers after the incident worked, not that the system of preventing the attack worked.
One problem is that the Transportation Security Administration does not have an Administrator. The Republicans in the Senate have been blocking the confirmation of Obama’s choice. As a result, there is nobody in charge.
The fact is that Napolitano has no experience in security issues or counter-terrorism. It is absurd that she is the secretary of Homeland Security
In Canada, she lost respect when she commented that the Mexican border should be treated just like the Canadian border. At the time of that dome comment, the Canadians labelled her as a passive problem in American politics; I guess they were right.
