The suspect, whose name was not released because he is a minor, was reportedly arrested by undercover police officers while he was traveling with a family member.

Some other Israeli news outlets are reporting that recently the minor lost his father and mother to a terror attack.

Authorities suspected extreme-right wing elements attacked the mosque as a “price tag” for the decision to freeze housing starts in the settlements, and raised concern in Jerusalem that it would trigger violent responses.

Kahane was an MK from 1984 until his party was declared racist and banned from the Knesset in 1988. He was assassinated in New York on November 5, 1990.

In the December 11 incident in the northern West Bank village, assailants burned prayer carpets and holy books, and left behind Hebrew graffiti indicating the rampage was the work of settlers angry over the government’s plan to curb settlement construction.

The assailants entered the village before dawn, according to police.

They burned prayer carpets and a book stand with Muslim holy texts, and left graffiti on the floor reading, ‘Price tag – greetings from Effi.’

‘Price tag’ is a term used by settlers either to denote retaliation for government decisions which curb settlement activity or in response to Palestinian attacks.

Clashes erupted between IDF troops and residents of Yasuf following the incident.

    According to Ynet
the youth suspected of torching the mosque in the West Bank village of Yasuf was released on bail Thursday evening, after the police verified his alibi. Nevertheless, the minor’s involvement in the case is still investigated.

I guess this craziness is part of the family DNA. Hopefully, if the charges turn out to be true, he will be jailed for a long time to serve as a deterrant against future terrorism by other settlers. Every time they take such action, the liklihood of a Palestinian state on the west bank goes up. They are hurting thier own cause.

If his parents were killed in a terrorist attack, the price tag was too cheap. This mosque is known for terrorist rhetoric and action. The IDF should have shut it down long ago.

It is important that we fight terrorism at every turn. However, there is no excuse for going into a random mosque and burning it down. There is no evidence that any of the people in that mosque were terrorists. If a Palestinian burns down a random shul in protest, they would (logically speaking) have the same right. RANDOM violence is NEVER the answer and we should condemn these people at every turn. They hurt all of us and make an eventual peace agreement even more distant.

he burned down the wrong building,a much bigger threat to the jews in israel,is the supreme court that nest of vipers and snakes that houses those criminaly insane traitorous self hating leftist gangsters who masquarade as justices.and are busy day and night giving out rulings that will make it easier for those murderous palestinians swines to kill and blow up jews.
in any other normal country these traitorous human garbages would be hanging from the gallows by their miserable necks

if true it is sad and he need to be jailed for a few years,

One cannot just burn down a mosque because a Muslim killed someone.

That would be like someone who lost money with Madoff, or the others that have been involved in fraud and just robbed a Jew at random to get their money back

Avishai raviv all over again. This is the classical modus operandi of the shabak. Who really thinks that a “settler” would go into an arab village, enter a hostile mosque, calmly take his time to scribble some slogans, assemble the necessary items, and light it all up. In fact, why leave slogans if you plan on burning the building to the ground. This is an effort to paint the right wing as evil, to justify the racist building freeze. What name is more synonymous with the right wing than the “infamous” Kahane family name.

I DONT EVEN BELIEVE THAT THE ACCUSED DID ANYTHING!! If the authorities would hound the real terrorists like they hound innocent Jews there would be no terrorist to worry about. They are still stuck on making Kahanes the bad buys.
If I had to bet on it I excpet to see Rabbi Meir Kahane HYD” in the lead of
Techiyas Ha Meisim. It is said that after the Tzaddikim the humble will arise and Rabbi Kahane was exceedingly humble. His Meiras Nefesh for Israel was total..

Do yoiu know that is was a Kahane who saved the life of a “boy who was shot
    in the Mercaz HaRav.
We certainly live in a world of Sheker and cant even tell the difference between the bad guys and the good guys.

This orphan from both parents, is the goel hadom of his parents too, had their murderer been Jewish he would have the right to pursue & kill, being Arab doesn’t free them. Even if he would take out their Mosque I would perfectly understand him, not that I would want it to happen, because of the repocussions on all of us.[Nor did he do it]
The police scapegoated him in an effort to anahalaite the Kahanas & their legacy, which is gaining so much steam of late.[ i.e. Kahana Tzadak movement]
The way they treated a Yosom from both parents who himself suffered at a young age from injuries due to Arab terror, they definatly were oiver on Kol Almono Veyosom Loi Seanun, all you prosecutors, jude jury & convivctions posts above, are simply unsympothetic ill hearted media judges, missing the 3 characteristics of the children of Abraham.
Have the Arabs compensated the 8 year old boy appologised, has Israel done anything for this poor orphan, have you posters done anything for him? At 8 years old was he chayav misa?
May he be resued & comforted by the Avi Yesomim Boruch Hu.
