Haaretz reported Tuesday that an investigation by the paper found that several of the skeletons were damaged during the excavations over the past five months for the Museum of Tolerance. The project is being funded by the Simon Wiesenthal Center, a Jewish organization based in Los Angeles.
Muslim groups have called for the project to be halted because it is being built on top of a Muslim cemetery.
Israel’s Supreme Court instructed excavators to carefully remove the graves to an alternative burial site. Experts cited in Tuesday’s report say this wasn’t done properly.
hafgonos!!
There is something v e r y odd about these exhumations – neither Atra Kadisha nor Neturei Karta were there to demonstrate.
why would they release this??? It will cause the Moslems to go crazy!!! What is wrong with the Israeli Government?
To number 3, the Israeli government can not or does not censor all news. A democracy owes its citizens straight and honest news.
I worked there. Islamic law states that bones can be destroyed after 40 years.
and another thing, if you guys knew what we found there (and I wouldn’t tell you because I signed a paper committing not to) you would see why the Arabs chose that spot for a cemetery…. there was a wealth of stuff there linking the Jewish people to the land, inextricably. No wonder the Arabs are causing a ruckus. And I don’t see HaAretz complaining about the graves specifically destroyed on Har HaZeisim (cause that’s ok, we all know, according to them)
Where AREN’T there graves?!?! Israel has been inhabited for 60,000 years!
