Let’s hope he told them its wrong to discriminate
it’s a terrible shame what is going on in Israel. In my opinion, the frum community should be leading the drive for achdus….but that is not happening, at least not the way I see it.
Let’s face it…the founding fathers of ISRAEL built the country for the non frum Ashkenzi who has one child and a dog….anybody outside of the above critirea should move to…maybe by now China
Reply to 2 well maybe ther’s somthing wrong with the way you see things, couse the way I see it, all the gedolim including the sefardy ones have come out for this couse and that’s telling, and truth be told I don’t realy care for the way you see things i’d take the gefolims lead on anything sooner than yours so if they chose this path I’m sure thers somthing they know you don’t.
I don’t understand the issue at all I don’t have a right to choose the education and chinuch of my children? Were does discrimination come in here?
It would be nice if he also met with the Sefardi girls who were kept out of the school. Perhaps he can still save a few of them from being turned off to Yiddishkeit entirely.
How are these girls supposed to have any positive feelings towards Yiddishkeit after they saw how the neighboring Beis Yaakov not only refused to accept them, but felt it necessary to build a wall in the playground so that the other girls would not even have to look at them?
Whether or not the school was correct in not accepting these girls, treating them like total garbage was not the right thing.
I hope Rav Shteinman reaches out to them.
Again. this whole case has nothing to do with discrimination. It is solely about religious degrees. There are Sephardi girls in the ultra orthodox classes together with the Ashkenazi girls, because they all come from frum homes – on the same level of stringencies. This is about being forced to run a school according to the non-religious powers and not even allowing them to take out their daughters to go to other schools.
Whtever you may think of the court ruling, these children are being exploited for the media in a manner that is really disgusting What would a rabbi like Shteinmn consent to be part of this media circus. Leave the children alone and stop using them to gain sympathy through the medica. Its abusive.

from watching this video, i get the impression the rabbi feels the parents of these boys are fulfilling a noble cause. there must be more to the story than i can see from the video. i would hate to think that such a great rabbi promotes racist actions.
My question on simple: the whole story was about the girls school! Why is rav shteineman giving candies to the boys?!? its the girls who shpuld be going and recieving!!?
#15 You are not following the story. 25-30% of the school is sefardi. There are sefardim in prison. This has nothing to do with racism. If your sefardi friends are insulted, it is because they want to be … not because of anything that happened in Emanuel. If I were sefardi I’d be a tad bit embarassed by the fool who brought this whole mess on.
It seems to me that all these people screaming racism over and over, repiticiously, could not even tell you a straight and chronological story of all the events. Nobody, including, the VoSis and Yeshiva news has been capable of writing the story properly and we repeatedly read about discrimination, segragation and racism. May I suggest that it seems (although, I might be wrong) that these Sefardim who are complaining are most probably the biggest racists at this point.
No one was asking the Ashkenazim to eat treifus, put a tzelem in their classrooms or sleep with sheep. The court simply said to let little sephardishe girls from frum families in the same school builing to learn. Instead, these Ashekanzim put up a brick wall to segregatet the sehparidic girls and fenced them off in the shoolyard. Why couldn’t they learn together?? This is the worst kind of racism and I do hope the parents are made to change their minds.

I side with the Sefardim. They gave us the Talmud Bavli, Talmud Yerushalmi, the Rambam and the Shulcan Orach.

Unfortunately many of the Gedolim are largely in the hands of heir Gabboyim and the askonim who surround them. The Gedolim are genuinely only interested in Torah Torah Torah. None of this politics interests them. They are happy to let their trusted aides deal with it. However sometimes the aides get too carried away.
I prefer watching clips of the Lubavitcher Rebbe giving DOLLARS to children to encourage tzedaka as opposed to LOLLIPOPS to encourage sinas chinom

The parents of I-Wannabe-a-Marxist Israelis have NOT such a pretty history when it comes to the human rights of the Sephardic community, whose Yemenite children were confiscated from their religious parents- for reasons of ideology – to be “re-educated” in anti-religious homes, for example. ?How many of these “re-educated” Yemeni children are today being used by their taskmasters to continue the abuse of the next generation(s) of Sephardic (and chassidic) children by again separating them from their religious parents by throwing their parents in jail on charges that are maliciously FALSE?
