WATCH: Wails Of Newborn Baby Intersperse With Holocaust Memorial Siren At Assuta Hospital


JERUSALEM (VINnews) — In an unusually poignant moment which occurred Monday morning at the Assuta hospital in Ashdod, a newborn infant’s cries were heard during the siren signifying Holocaust Memorial Day.

As nursing and medical staff stood at attention to honor the memory of the six million who perished in the Holocaust, a baby was being born and its cries mingled with the sounds of the siren, creating a moment of hope during a time of national grief.

During the course of 2023, 179,000 children were born in Israel, 73.3% Jews, 24.3% Arabs and 2.6% others.
