Shmuel Feitman, 31, of Downing Street, here, was trapped in the car for more than 15 minutes after the crash shortly after 3:30 p.m. at River Road and John Street, said Officer Robert Lopez. Members of the Lakewood First Aid Squad and the Hatzollah First Aid Squad extricated him from his car by cutting off the roof, Lopez said.

The Feitman car collided with a vehicle driven by Semion Gailer, 35, of Omni Court, here, who was driving north on River Avenue, Lopez said.

Lopez said Feitman, who traveling on John Street, “pulled out in front of the vehicle to make a turn.” Feitman was issued a summons for failure to yield, he said.

Feitman was taken to Kimball Medical Center, here, after complaining of pain on his left side, Lopez said. His condition was unavailable.

The Lakewood Fire Department also responded.

Part of the problem is that driving on Route 9 (River Rd.) is a nightmare at times. There are only two lanes and much too much traffic and it is very hard to make left turns onto it. They should have widened the road more than 30 years ago when traffic was already getting worse.

#2 – OF COURSE HE GOT A TICKET. His reckless disregard for stop signs caused this accident in the first place. I feel bad for his injuries and the experience he went through, but it was his own doing. And what about the other driver? It was not his fault and yet he suffered due to this guys negligence. The law is the law. End of story
