Huckabee was in Des Moines on Sunday courting evangelical conservatives.

He told reporters the decision by the state’s voters to oust the justices resonated across the country. He thinks it will also add momentum to a larger movement over the gay marriage issue.

The justices’ ouster came after a well-funded campaign by conservative groups objecting to their part in a 2009 decision that legalized gay marriage in Iowa.

The former Baptist minister Huckabee planned to speak to more than 1,000 evangelicals at a massive church in Des Moines. The gathering is marking the merger of a series of evangelical groups.

Yes a wonderful precedent. Every time some voters disagree with a court decision, they will try to get thd judges removed from office. With the hundreds of millions of dollars that corporations and wealthy individuals can now legally spend on political activity, they will simply “buy” the judges by threatening to have them removed. All judges should be given lifetime appointments to insulate them from political retaliation.

“All judges should be given lifetime appointments to insulate them from political retaliation.”

FWIW, British judges can only be removed from office by a special Act of Parliament.

Instead of outing of a irrational judge like linda reade they vote out people for minor issues

The right of people to have a honest judge who doe st work with prosecutors is more important then gay rights

It’s unfortunate that Jews are siding with Huckabee and his reactionary bunch. If you really take the time to read what the fundamentalists want, you will see that they want to install a Christian government. They’re just taking their time. In fact, the Republican Jewish speaker of the Texas House is being attacked by Huckabee and his friends because he isn’t Christian. The robo-call message called for people to support their candidate because he is a “true Christian”, despite the fact that the Jewish speaker of the Texas House is very conservative.
