Gingrich yesterday ranted that front-runner Mitt Romney is trying to buy the presidential nomination — the same way billionaire Mike Bloomberg bought the mayoralty.

It’s the second time in a week that Gingrich has slammed Bloomberg’s wealth.

“You figure out — between 2007 and 2008 and 2011 and 2012 — how many dollars per vote Romney has spent and it will rival Bloomberg,’’ Gingrich told reporters after attending Mass at St. Ambrose Cathedral in Des Moines.

Even some in the Gingrich camp were scratching their heads about their boss’ obsession with Bloomberg.

“Oh, boy, one question too many,” Gingrich spokesman R.C. Hammond quipped to reporters afterward.”

    Dear Newt Gingrich,

Oh pa-leaze! You are the same person who made over $100 MILLION dollars from Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac, but you’re complaining about other people having “too much” money in politics! Ha! You WISH people were throwing you millions of dollars for your campaign! You’d be slinging the SAME negative ads they are slinging at you! Guaranteed!

Why don’t you just give up already?! If you win the nomination… all anybody will be talking about is you. NOT Barack Obama. You would single-handedly prepare the way for Obama to win re-election, no problem!

Your average, rational voter, does not want somebody w\your past “issues” in the White House! No way! Anybody who ever worked w\you back then cannot stand you now & is NOT supporting your current candidacy! That ought to tell you something! You aren’t fit to lead!

And if you ran the country, the way you held the Speakership back in the 90’s, OR, how you’re running your current campaign now… we’d be in a lot worse trouble than we already are in! You would turn the entire country against Republicans on the whole! Mark my words! You absolutely would!

Cut your losses & go home Newt.
    Sincerely,

    Everyone!

“One question too many” is not the guy I need in a high-pressure post like the presidency.
And I don’t like Bloomberg either, but why harp on his money unless maybe Newt doesn’t like rich Jewish mayors.
Probably the folks in Iowa don’t either. Is he playing to the crowd?

Since when is it a crime to be rich. I HATE populists.

I really can’t stand people who look in other people’s pockets, and count their wealth, or pass rumors as to how much money one has or doesn’t have. Newt Gingrich himself is not a poor person. Therefore, how dare him count Bloomberg’s money. Bloomberg came from very modest means, and made his fortune, because of his ingenuity. This is America, and if people want to make millions or billions, that is their business!

Am I the only one who finds the look on Gingrich’s face scary?

Bloomberg used his fortune to circumvent the will of the NYC citizens who voted TWICE for term limits. He forced and conived his way into a third term which has proved to be a disaster for him.
