La Canada, CA – A teacher in California was fired after she called one student “Jew boy” and made fun of another special education student’s speech impediment.

The La Canada Unified school board’s decision to begin the dismissal of high school math teacher Gabrielle Leko came after a nearly nine month-long saga where the teacher has fought complaints that she used multiple racist and sexist comments in the classroom, KTLA-TV reported.
Parents, who lodged complaints as early as June of last year about the math teacher, were furious that it took so long.
After the original complaint, another adult was assigned to her classroom so she would never been alone with students, KTLA reported. In November, she was ordered to undergo diversity training. And in December, the school board recommended that the district reach a decision for her to leave.
At that meeting, the board also gave students the option to leave her class — which 17 students in two classes did.
Finally, on Tuesday, the board voted unanimously to fire her, effective at the end of this month.
Good. Someone with a lousy attitude like that should not be a teacher. Better they find out now than 20 years down the line.
This anti-Semite has no place being in a classroom teaching children. Let her get a job in a zoo cleaning the cages of pigs.

It shouldn’t have taken this long (9 months) for the school board to make it’s decision. In any case it was the right one…she had to go.

Glad she gone. The school board would have no control over any benefits she may have accrued with the state of California Teacher’s Retirement Fund (CALSTRS)..

Pull her license to teach and make sure her background checks always include the outcome of this district’s decision. Hopefully she will not turn up somewhere else and do more harm.
I had a teacher in high school that stood by complacently as other kids taunted me with anti semitic jeers. Finally the school got involved but did nothing to the teacher as she was one of the only black teachers on staff. Anti semitism was okay, but punishing a clearly racist and incompetent black teacher was unheard of. This was back in the late 70’s in Madison, WI which of course was a hotbed of liberal garbage and still is. I still remember that we also had a black assistant principal who was arrested for lewd behavior, and never lost his job, primarily as he was the only black administrator in the system. This is not meant to be a racist comment, but only by way of illustration. At least in this case, something is being done.
