Fascinating! A Yiddishe Neshama trapped not simply in a non-Jewish environment but a Nazi-based one … yet succeeds in extracting himself and coming home. Kol Hakavod, Dr. Wollschlaeger. Can’t wait to read your story…

    Wow! Kidush Hashem!

Dr. Wollschlaeger seems proud of his father. He also doesn’t own up to exactly where his father was and what he did during the war. However, I do get some satisfaction in knowing how much “naches” his father had from him. May the Nazi rot in Hell.

Kol HaKavod! There’s no telling what Hashem intends for a neshama. My father is anti-semitic and and racist.(From the whole 70’s “Black Power” era). He’s still in shock from my conversion. He never imagined that his black, inner-city raised daughter would become Jewish, marry a “white” man, and live in Israel (that evil Zionist nation that was stolen from the Arabs, according his opinion).

Those who sincerely seek the truth eventually either end up as B’nei Noach or actually convert to Judaism.

To #5 - There seems to be this myth, which has emanated in recent years, that the Wermacht was made up of fine, and compassionate soldiers, and that they didn’t engage in atrocities or genocide against the Jews, Gypsies, or others. The latter premise was absolutely false, as The Jewish Press had revealed towns, which the regular German Army invaded, where the SS was not operating; the Wermacht then proceeded in engaging in genocide, against the Jews. Hence, when it came to killing Jews, there was no difference between the Wermacht and the SS!

Regarding historical revisionism pertaining to the Wermacht, which was the regular German Army during World War Two, (that they were not as bad as the SS), reminds me of the revisionist nonsense which appeared in numerous newspapers during Reagan’s infamous visit to the Nazi war cemetery in Bitburg, Germany, in May, 1985, where there were SS graves. At that time, various nonsensical stories appeared in print, which stated that “the SS was not that bad, that many were draftees, and not all of them were assigned to concentration camps, only the Death Head Division”. I can’t believe that the public believed that garbage. In fact, one gentile veteran of World War Two, who had seen the work of the SS, was so incensed at the White House’s amnesia, and lack of sensitivity, that he mailed all of his World War Two Army medals to the White House. He stated that he saw the SS bayonet helpless American air crews, who were forced to parachute into Germany.
