The Times Herald-Record (http://bit.ly/12dEYlu) is reporting that businesses operating for six months or less, between March 31 and Oct. 1, will now have to apply to the town clerk for the permit before being allowed to open.

Town officials say the new rules will ensure that properties used by seasonal businesses will meet maintenance, health, and safety codes during summer months and clean up before being vacated for the fall and winter months.

“We have a lot of seasonal businesses that come in, they throw up a sign and leave garbage all over,” said Councilman and Deputy Supervisor, Arnold Seletsky. “They come in the middle of the night, and they leave in the middle of the night.”

Under the new code revisions, the town will now require a $1,000 deposit in addition to the $100 application fee for a permit. The deposit will be returned if businesses have no outstanding code violations following an end-of-season inspection.

Those operating without a permit will be fined $500 a week for the first two weeks, and then $1,000 per week until they acquire an approved permit.

Previously, operating permits were limited to businesses manufacturing and storing hazardous materials, some commercial and industrial operations, pyrotechnic displays and certain buildings.

That list now includes delis, groceries, restaurants, recreational businesses and others.

Another way to get money out of the Yidden who pay Millions of Dollars Taxes to Sullivan County for the use for 8 weeks, and who pays for the Schooling for thier children. We should leave that place & they will go bankrupt.

Once again the town figures out a way to line it’s pockets with stupidity. You know they’ll find a way to keep the $1,000 deposit. How much will it cost to beautify the town by removing the junk cars and undesirables from the properties surrounding main street?

All they want is that we yidden should NOT cause a chilil hashem while conducting business and profiting from the summer residents. We all know that we pay the highest prices for Grocery, fruit and vegetables , Challahs,Meat and other foods, while shopping in those stores…
There is nothing wrong with this new rule…If you plan to conduct business in a mentchlige way you should have no problem and if you leave behind a chilil hashem please pay up…..

Well, if there’s no garbage, there’s no reason to worry.
Shame on you for leaving garbage behind!
    That’s disgusting.

    To Nos. 3, 4 and 5

If these ehrliche yidden want to do business in Sullivan county, they can do so with nice stores and well-maintained premises. They don’t have to build a taj majal for a seasonal business. However, if they feel that filth and garbage is an essential part of their hashkafah, they should stay home in BP and willy.

Why don’t they just spell it out?

“Hey Hassidim, we can’t stand you and your lousy lifestyle. We don’t want you to ever show up in person but do continue to support our local dying economy by purchasing gas at our stations, shop at our WalMarts, ShopRites and local stores, support our dilapidated 3rd world country Hospital, and let us complain about noise, dirt, lousey driving, too many kids, eysore bungalow colonies, hat-bearing hikers etc etc.

Oh, and keep Hazzzzzzoloh out of Sullivan couty too, it’s hurtin MobileMedic and besides you Hassids only treat Jews, “everybody” knows that.

Oh and on your way out pleas

Very soon – quicker than some of might realize – chol hamoed Pesach will be upon us. As we all know, this is a time for families to pack their picnics and to go to the parks and other open spaces.

Given the tenor of many of the remarks published above, it will be very interesting indeed to see how many yiddishe kinderlach from otherwise excellent upbringing will just drop their garbage on the grass and not in garbage bins that might be two or three feet away from where they stand and fress.

That feeling of “oh, these petty laws do not apply to us Jews; why should we have to bother with keeping the park pristine so that others may enjoy it also” is all too common.

But let’s wait and see. Somehow I have the feeling I am 100% right on this matter – and that depresses me.

If just a few of the many chashuvah rabbonim in brooklyn would issue a statement that yidden should stay at home in the summers and not engage in the bitul torah resulting from running to the mountains every thursday night and running back on Sunday, and the pritzus that goes on when the single men are alone in the City during the week, Sullivan county would not have to worry about the ambience of the temporary chulent shops and pizza places.

What about Walmart complaining that the yiddelech buy stuff like air conditions or ice coolers, then they return them when summer’s over. If that’s not a chillel hashem, what is? It’s geneivah! I wish the yiddelech would behave like yidden should.

My neighbors return all their sheets, bedding and just about everything they buy at Walmart at the end of the summer. They even return the unused soda, bags of pretzels, etc! What a shanda we are!
