Barry Palczewski (pal-CHAF’-ski) was charged with grand larceny and possession of a forged instrument Friday. Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. says the 55-year-old worked in the law office of an attorney put in charge of the victim’s estate several years ago.
The suspect worked as an accountant in the office and managed the woman’s bank accounts. Prosecutors say he stole more than 100 checks from the woman’s personal account and wrote out checks to himself. They say the money paid for hot tub repairs and sporting events.
The woman died last May at age 97.
A call to Palczewski’s lawyer was not immediately returned.
There is a special place in hell
so is he Jewish?
He should be hung upside by his heels like the goniff he is!
How very heartless of him taking advantage of someone so vulnerable. With that said It still is not our job to assign punishments to anybody, not for him not for boston bombers not for levi aaron not for anyone, we have the fairest ultimate judge up there and noone escapes giving giving din vcheshbon after there 120. I’m sure they all have there ” special rewards” waiting for them.
If it WAS our job we’d do a much better one of making sure these creeps never see the light of day. We’d have SMR & Ostreicher, Gross etc out of jail. But we still have one thing going for us….we can wish for Justice in Olam Hazeh, even if we never see it.
Has there been a group of people more lied to or about in the last century than the Jewish people? A group more exploited? Given that I amazed reading the comments here and lack of questions regarding this matter. The truth here is a district attorney (Cyrus Vance) and an admistration looking to score electoral points with your community for November, while allowing the true thief to go unpunished. Mr Palczewski has wife 6 children and needed his job. The true thief, an officer of the firm with the victims signature stamp used Mr. Palczewski as a “mule”.I know he had little or no knowledge of the victim, other than it was wealthy european account.I have neve stolen a dime in my life but I can’t say I would have said no to my boss under similar circumstances. He was paid a small amount for each trip to the bank while “Roy” kept the proceeds. You need to be asking why the DA isn’t pursuing the real culprit, since they know all these facts. Mr. Palczewski cooperated from th beginning, turning over tons of evidence which is now being used to prosecute him in a clearly political move. Why is a powereful firm who wants to avoid pubicity being accomodated? Campaign contributions?
