The Jewish Daily Forward (http://bit.ly/1cV64ym) reports that Rabbi Charles Simon of the Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs has put forward the proposal in order to break down restrictions facing non-Jews.

The new efforts made by the Conservative rabbis to accommodate intermarried couples was brought about after the Pew Research Center’s study of American Jews released dropping numbers within the Conservative movement. Twenty-four percent of Jews age 65 and over identify themselves as Conservative, while only 11 percent of Jews age 18-29 are Conservative.

Though Conservative doctrine currently bans intermarriage, intermarriage is widespread in the Conservative pews.

Conservative rabbinic leaders anticipate that if they are able to draw intermarried families into Conservative pews, children of intermarriages will be raised Jewish.

Free world huh? When you can not beat them, let them run your lies. No worry though. Torah has a better world than a fraudulent synagogue.

The only place that is holy in a reform or conservative synagogue is the Bathroom. That is the only place you are truly serving Hashem. Otherwise you are just serving your own money or your own lie. No thanks.

“Conservative rabbinic leaders anticipate that if they are able to draw intermarried families into Conservative pews, children of intermarriages will be raised Jewish.”

I anticipate the opposite. Accepting non-jewish spouses for jewish children, rather than insisting that they marry someone jewish, will result in *fewer* jewish children. After all, why is jewish special? Why should these intermarrieds not celebrate xtian holidays?

Rather, here is what is they really want. They don’t care about the next generation. What they wants is to keep this, last, generation of jews coming to the conservative synagogue for one last hurrah.

Conservative is the early reform and LWMO is the early conservative.

This is the disastrous result of this quasi Jewish brace in the USA.
Now they are attempting to export their failed theology to Israel.

    Halevai.
Best thing that could ever happen.

It will finally and once and for all, place the conservative movement together with the reform and reconstructionist congregations where they truly belong.

They will be soon out of business, so they need to change the marketing strategy. It’ll breathe just a few more years of life into a defunct movement.

Unless I missed something in the Bavli or in Shulchan Aruch, there is no positive outcome (but many negative outcomes) associated with raising non-Jewish children as Jews. I would be curious to see the statistics (if they exist) regarding the percentage of Baalei Teshuva coming from conservative families versus coming from unaffiliated families and reform families.

No surprise here…they are reshaim through and through. Better to keep them entirely separated from us Torah Yidden. Soon enough Avi Weiss and his ilk will allow the exact same things. And we should force E”Y to allow their geirim into the country??!?? To recognize them as true Jews??!? This is an extreme insult to geirei tzadikkim, it’s completely despicable.
