(FILE - Laurie Cumbo (LMCC 2011-lmcc.net)Crown Heights, NY – Laurie Cumbo, the future Brooklyn councilwoman who caused a political uproar last week when she posted a Facebook post alluding to connections between “knockout game” violence and tensions between Jews and blacks, once asked a known race-ranter to speak at her museum.

The New York Post (http://bit.ly/IRkCWt) reports that Cumbo, head of the Brooklyn Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts, invited former CUNY Black Studies professor Leonard Jeffries to speak at the museum in 2011.

Jeffries has been a long-standing discordant figure in the city. He once stated that the Mafia and Jews conspired to repress blacks, and in 1994, he compared Jews to “skunks – who stink up the place.” He’s also referred to whites as “ice people.”

Cumbo said she does not have a personal or a professional relationship with Jeffries, but as the museum was organizing a trip to Ghana, she asked him to speak on that subject.

It’s Time For The New York Post To Stop With their Lies Against Jews & Non Jews Alike.

I’m sure there’s some good people in the POST to where are they? How can they just remain silent everytime they’re Bashing A Jewish Rabbi & A non jewish Politician! It’s Time to say Enough is Enough!!

I like the term ice people better than being called peckerwood.

You just don’t get it, do you? Didn’t you notice? When Knockout first begain in Crown Heights, no one (and I really mean NO ONE) not Hikind, Greenfeld, Schumer, Felder, Markowitz, Adams, de Blasio, Bloomberg etc….NO ONE came out and said a word. After all, for some it’s only Jews who are victims. For others, it’s Jews who aren’t of “our” constituency. So this woman uses it to add to the tacitly-condoned anti-semitism that pervades this city & tosses in a few more ideas for good measure.

The NY Post is the only entity that showed any dismay at what is going on here. I’m a 60 year old & I am afraid, even during the day. I watch out & if I see any Black person coming towards me I give him/her a wide berth. Yes, it’s BLACK people attacking whites. Enough of the pandering & PC rhetoric.

Instead of accusing the Post of stirring up trouble, you should thank them. If not for them, we’d be even more vulnerable. After all, our own “community leaders” don’t give a damn and police protection is skimpy.
