Hikind Says Recent Hike In Police Presence in Brooklyn’s Jewish Community Has Disappeared

NEW YORK (VINnews) – Merely weeks since a spree of attacks against Jews around New York City and state, the beefed up police presence around Jewish synagogues and community centers has nearly all but disappeared according to Former NY Assemblyman Dov Hikind.

I personally surveyed Flatbush/Midwood, while other members of my team went around Crown Heights, Borough Park, and Monsey, and we all found the same surprising thing: the police are all but gone, Hikind said.

“If the reason for the removal of the police is that attacks against Jews have decreased, it’s quite obvious that it was likely due to the fact of police presence, so removing those effective police will likely backfire and bring us right back to the situation that necessitated increased police presence in the first place.”

“The Jewish communities are not feeling safe yet. While the hardcore violence we’ve known from the previous year has abated momentarily, the hate and vitriol being spouted at Jews in person and online has not. And therefore, I am calling on the mayor and governor to maintain a higher state of vigilance rather than letting our guard down now when we are still vulnerable.”

Below is a summary of Hikind’s quick survey yesterday:

FLATBUSH/MIDWOOD
21 Synagogues, Community Center and Schools
1 State Police Vehicles Parked/Officers Stations outside
0 NYPD Vehicles Parked/Officers Stations outside

MONSEY, NY

BOROUGH PARK

WOW!! What a surprise, Dov. The politicians don’t have a crisis to feed off and they go and hide while re-assigning resources. Must be going on some 3000 years, ask the Roman Senate, the feudal tribes of Gaul, France, England, and any other place. It’s never going to change, Dov. The feinschmekers are not accountable and have no fear of the electorate.

Did anyone really think that this was permanent. Get private armed security

I’m not a fan of the current money-hungry, tax grabbing US government, but did Hikind actually believe that they’ll spend millions each week watching Jewish communities? And I don’t blame them for not doing so. It’s the Jewish communities and individuals responsibilities to defend ourselves to the best of our ability.

There is no reason for the taxpayer to foot the bill. If an organization feels threatened, let them hire private security.

I agree with Chinky, as it is up to us, to protect ourselves. There was no way that the resources of the NYPD or the State Police, would be stationed indefinitely in the areas, that they were situated at.

Incidentally, if anyone has ever seen photos of the NY State Police stationed near the NYPD, at the various Yeshivahs? One visual fact immediately stands out. The state troopers are all fit and trim, and are in excellent physical condition. On the other hand, the NYPD are all zaftig. I can’t understand if Cuomo can require the state troopers to be thin and trim, why DeBlasio can’t do the same thing, for the NYPD? Surely, with cops in better physical condition, it would cut down on health care premiums, as well as absences, because of physical illness.

Everyone deserves police protection. Hiring private guards is paying twice, since we already pay for the police.

As always, Hikind will do anything to get press attention. Does he realize that sector cars are paying extra attention to schools and shuls? Does Hikind realize there aren’t enough cops for there to be one assigned to each shul and yeshiva? If a precinct has 225-250 officers divided between 3 shifts, with some assigned to specific tasks how many manned RMPs does he think can be stationed at shuls an yeshivas?
