Police Raze 8 Homes, 2 Synagogues In Maoz Esther, Baladim Outposts

KOCHAV HASHACHAR (VINnews) — Border Police and Civil Administration officials demolished Monday morning six illegal buildings in the Baladim outpost as well as six other buildings in the “Maoz Esther” outpost near Kochav Hashachar in the Binyamin region. The Maoz Esther outpost was established in 2005 in memory of local resident Esther Galia who was murdered by terrorists at the nearby Rimonim junction. Since then in has repeatedly been evacuated and rebuilt but has yet to receive official authorization from the state.

The forces reportedly demolished several family homes, two synagogues and about eight other buildings. One of the residents barricaded himself in his home and the forces have been unable to evacuate him to this point.

One of the families evacuated was a young couple who married just a week and a half ago, The woman was reportedly choked by police as they evacuated her. Another couple with a baby about two weeks old were evicted from their home as well.

The Honenu legal aid organization reports that 13 people were detained by police. Lawyers from the organization are assisting the detainees.

A local resident said that “once again the state continues to harry Jewish settlers who are establishing the borders on the ground just as we saw in the Trump plan. At the same time the state allows colossal Arab construction nearby to continue unhindered. We will continue to hold on to each and every clod of earth in the land of Israel.”

Yerushalayim Gozlan, the young bride evicted from her home Monday morning, describes how police dragged the couple out of their house, threw out all of their possessions including holy books, wedding presents and some furniture and wrecked the house. She promises to return and rebuild her home there.
